Need Help Sea marathon missions not appearing.

Hello,
I started playing few days ago and quickly found myself proud owner of 3rd rank ship. Which was a very bad idea beacuse i had navigation up to about 27 so you could imagine what was going on with my stats. After realizing penalties of sailing ship without proper nav I decided to farm 65 nav as fast as possible, I did a lot of cargo transport, some storms and escorts(which are bad, because of lying capt's giving no reward but prey ships, which i dont hunt because i need good relations). And I remember I got offer to race with another ship to some port which I refused at that time because i was busy with main quest. And now i cannot find those tasks anymore. I tried save scumming taverns for a loong time and captains that i met only want me to escort them not race with them. Is it possible i blocked it somehow by refusing it in the past? Or do I need to meet any criteria to be able to find racing captains. Also if you could give me any advice on how to advance my navigation fast, i would be greatful. Thanks in advance.

the race quests are rnd, and as to best lvl up nav skill just sail no matter if ya do quests or not time spended on sailing counts + difficulty in sailing conditions.
in game there are quests that will reward u with additional sailing xp tho dont know wchich ones, cant recall any atm would need check the files...

EDIT: some calutche quests add extra 50- 500 sailing xp, some traders quests add 10-20 sailing xp, some quests in Jolly Rodger add ~200xp to sailing, some finall lesson and common shipyard didnt checked the values, best way is to try find an officer with high enoght nav skill, thats my advice, and ur personal nav skill will catch up in time

EDIT 2: (Adversiment ) if ya dont mind lil cheating u can try OCM / TOL (cheat menu's) to add raw the sailing xp to ur toon or ur navigator officer

Hi,
I think you accidentally stumbled upon the Regatta, which is a quest that you need to accept the first time it is being offered to you. If you don't, you won't be able to find the quest again.
It usually triggers after you do a couple of randomly generated quests for harbormasters. However, it's not such an important quest, just a side quest that's also quite challenging.

Thanks for replies, I think I might have been extremally unlucky, bcs after some hours of freeplay i managed to find some Marathon missions, and I already maxed out Navigation. My advice is to finish Long way to the Gallows with the pirate captain way (hard fight with 6 guards but doable even for an amateur like myself), then use ward Jonas and get storm durability perk. After that if you sail into storm and get yourself a good angle to wind you can get up 1,5-2 nav from every storm. Besides that just do sailing tasks.
