What do you see that is causing you to call it "ugly", Beamster? Describe it, and also tell us your system specifics - what is your video card, how much RAM, that kind of thing... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

I think he's referring to the difference between the world map vs. regular sailing. If that's the case, there is no way to sail normally to another island. You have to use the world map unfortunately. If this is not the case, then I apologize for the assumption. I just don't see what else he could mean though.

Hummm, you may be right, Otaku! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Aye,its not as purty as de normal sail'n,be 'ard tew put much detail in world map sail'n being everythings small,it'd be much nicer look'n than SeaDogs1
be interest'n tew see what it looks like in SeaDogs2 whan it's released. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Come think of it, when you approach an island it looks really nice - from afar - but a close up of fx the french island shows MASSIVE waves drowning the whole port!
Just a thought: Woulden it be nice if the "sailing" mode looked the same as the "3rd/1rd person walking on land" mode?

another little funny thing: wheres the crew? I mean, I would really love to see someone stack 400 people on those "tiny" fregates!
I dont know much of ships, but I dont think that the size of thing (forts vs port vs ship) is 100% correct after all...

Actually, 400 on the frigate is not really that hard to percieve. At the office where I work, there are over 100 people and the room is only a fraction of the size of the deck on the frigate (comparatively). Also remember that there are several decks on the ship, the cannon decks alone would need 2,3, or 4 crew per cannon. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />

Oh and don't forget the poor sailors cleaning the bilge <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

The way to put a lot of men on a smaller ship is to rotate watches - 12 hours on, 12 hours off, and everyone share a hammock/living space with another so that when you're on duty you are not in your living quarters, and your opposite is using them, and when off duty you're in your living quarters or hammock while your counterpart is on deck or at work...
