In a bizzare backhanded move Rockstar has launched a new patch for GTA San Andreas removing content and functionality from the game not just from new copy's purchased but from anybody who already had it on steam.
So whats the big deal ? its just a patch aint it ?
Well the big deal is that Content that people paid for has been forceably striped from the game this amounts to what alot of people are seeing as the first ever theft from a video game already owned by consumers, imagine if you bought a CD then 6 months down the track a record label came to your house and scratched a few songs off ...well this is basically what has happened.
so what does this mean ?
Well thats what is up in the air at the moment this is a bad precedent for what a dev can do to patch their game if they get away with it this affects modders and players alike because the dev can remove content at will and actively work to patch out mods they don't like and that is just plain greasy.
