Random crashes

Ahoy all!

I just installed Pirates and got some real nasty issues

I get random crashes.. in battle, or sailing.

I cant seem to find any patches, so I assume there aren't any.

any clues will be welcome .

Setup:

Intel P4 3.0Ghz Prescott (HT enabled)
nVidia GF 6800 Ultra (256MB / `PCI-E`)
realTek based Audio (Buildin on my ASUS P4GD1 MB)
1024MB DDR400 RAM
Lots of avail HDD space (60GB+)
No crashes in other games, like CS.
