PotBS is always changing and being updated. If you have any questions, I'll try my best to answer them so shoot away!

They haven't yet decided the monthly price, I think one of the devs said that it would probably be $10-$15

I think the game it's self will cost $50 at first and then it will go down as the game gets a little older. No exact price on that yet either.

How will the guild system be realized, and can we furnish our own cabins (or in anyway customize the inside of our ships)?

I'll look up on what I can find, from what I know, I don't think you'll be able to customize the inside of ships ( I could be wrong)

As for guilds, I think there going to set-up something that you can join a guild and you could see who is on (something close to what WoW and Vanguard do)

Hope that helps. I'll look up the questions also to double check.

All right, thanks mate! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" /> Are you in a guild already?

I am, but I don't think it's the right match for me. I'm probably going to start my own for Pirates Ahoy, probably be the Pirate Scum or British.

Pirate Scum always gets the chicks....

Cool! I am planning to do just the same (with Keith's permission of course), so there's two of us so far! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sailr.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":sail" border="0" alt="sailr.gif" />

Well you just -if what you say is true removed any interest Imay have in playing the game . I finally had gotten over the hurdle of paying a subscription fee every month for a game ..I spend more in the item mall I find then if I had just subscribed . But to ask me to PAY for a game ..50.00 ..and then as k me to PAY yet again to pay it ?
I just wrap my head around that .

People do it. Look at World of Warcraft 8 million people play or that was there peak point that is $15 a month + the game $30-50

Here is how I look at it, it takes a ton of money to make a good quality game, they need the on going money to keep the game alive. I like PotBS because Blizzard and NCsoft have 200+ employees Flying Lab Software (makers of PotBS) have 39 employees.

Which is great on the community relations side, being able to know most or all of the devs by name, but amounts to slower development of goodies <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" /> But I agree with you <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/buds.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":drunk" border="0" alt="buds.gif" />

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> /agree

It looks quite interesting, a concern though is how will the game protect new people who join? What's going to stop some level 10 pirate for example to beat on the level 1 newbie who just bought the game yesterday and cant get out of their port or something without having some frigate outside waiting to trample over their sloop.

they solved it in puzzle pirates by making an undefeatable ship that would avenge such players.

how's about that praetorians site in your siggy?

A higher level don´t make you that more powerfull in PotBS compared to new players. Higher levels means more variety in the stuff you can do in combat.

Really?

As a level 7 I was just trying to do the economy mission, and was attacked by a level 50 player in the contested area.

My sailing a sloop, I thought I could simply outrun his giant warship. Instead he had an ability that let his massive ship overtake me, turn, broadside me, turn back around, catch up, and broadside me again.

I died in two barrages.

I wasn't too happy right then, considering the effort i'd taken to get that sloop, and how quickly i lost it all because a level 50 saw me and decided to tear me apart.
