doesn't bother me mate. i have great fun smuggling into the french port and because luck is so bad at the start of a ganme i always get intercepted which gives me more weapons from the guys on the bech and a couple of easy captures from the ships waiting to intercept me.
biggest regret is lossing my pirate corvette. that damn ship rocks zoom along on the slightest breeze and turns on a 10 cent peice

Woops. Forgot to answer this question. Use the PotC modhelper in the /tools subfolder, point it to your PotC installation and set "Enable this if you want to generate error reports" on (Settings tab). Then click "Save settings". Then when the game is played, the errors will be reported in a file named "error" in your main PotC folder.

System.log was generated in the crash exact time, error.log was generated 10 minutes before the crash.

Hmm. Seems to me like something is wrong with the sandbag. The files named in error.log don't sound as if they would have anything to do with a crash during a fight. You say you sometimes have a crash during a land fight, but not always? The file Sandbag.GM is in "C:\giochi\Pirates of the Caribbean\RESOURCE\MODELS\Ammo" directory.
However I had another crash and this time the log didn't show any entry about Sandbag.

I think that this problem should come with some mod get after Aug/05 (I still play with an older version that never crash during fight), I will try to find the problem by compare the old modpack with the last version by WinMerge (thanks for your suggestion to use it, It's a great tool).

Maybe I've found the cause of my crashed in:
\Pirates of the Caribbean\PROGRAM\Characters\characters.c

I've tried to remove the following line (start at Line 214) that aren't in the old more stable version of the ModPack:

Then I try to kill a Ton of people in Greenford and this time the game doesn't crash.
I'm just amazing that nobody else had the same problem.

I don't know what these lines done but seems cause problem when too charaters died in a location.

Found the reason: every blade weapon model needs a "start" and "end" locator. The sandbag model (a modified purse) lacked these. Here is a modelfile WITH locators. Unzip and copy it into resource\models\ammo

I've added your fix in my game and till now it doesn't crash (but I didn't play too much to be sure).

I found another problem: sometime dialog with npg are empty and there is no way to exit from the dialog interface, just have to kill the game with ctrl-c.

Hmm, at least the walker dialog works on MY PC. Could you please attach YOUR dialogs\Enc_Walker.c and dialogs\Enc_Walker.h to this thread so that we could have a look at them? Maybe something in your download or installation garbled those files.
 
For the Enc_walker. c errors, i think that's probably because giuliootto has an old version version of Enc_walker.h file where the last lines are missing. Have you the new islands mod version of theses files?

If you use the new islands mod, install the second file. If you don't use the new islands, you should install the first file. Just extracting it on top of your installation should work. I tested this update briefly and it seems to work quite fine.

Please note: This update features hardly any new features at all; just bugfixes.

<i><b>List of changes in the new update:</b></i>
- The optical effects in the Greenford Maltese Knight Abbey can now be tweaked for those who have performance problems. Use the USE_PARTICLES setting which is already in Buildsettings.h for seabattle effects. 0 sets the abbey effects to minimum, 2 or higher to maximum.
- Two treasurespot locators moved to places with proper "burial ground".
- Fix for an older problem: Hoseowners should become hostile when you touch their treasurechests. A few months ago the AI group of the houseowners was changed, which messed up that alarming. Fixed now.
- Raise the flag mod should now work and shouldn't cause the Letter of Marquee bug anymore (I didn't test this myself yet)
- People on land may recognize you if you once raised your flag.
- Shipberthing should work properly again (I tested this and it indeed seems to work fine)
- When using the ship-to-ship transfer, the ship you transfer with shouldn't sink anymore (I tested this and it indeed seems to work fine)
- All quality firearms now use bullets and gunpowder instead of just the average ones using bullets and gunpowder (I didn't test this myself yet)
- Petros' Merchantman vessel added to the captain's cabin mod.
- Text I forgot to add to common.ini the previous time is added now.
- Sandbag model is now fixed.

Please tell me if the above mentioned bugs are now fixed. And also please tell me of any new or old bugs that are still left. Though I reckon there shouldn't be any new bugs in this update. Have fun with it. And thanks a lot to CCC, Jack Rackham and Petros for providing the new code in this update. New features that I have waiting to be added will be added once I can merge it in properly. Thankfully, I'm getting some help with it.
