Pre-Build 13 installation problems

I tried downloading Pre-B13 twice today, and both downloads have the same problem - a few important files in almost every directory are corrupted and it ends the extraction unexpectedly. Both downloads suffer from this problem, and I've been forced to revert to my backup of Build 12 just to play the game. The link there doesn't work, which is why I had to use an alternate download site in the first place.

Did you even look at the files there before pasting it here? I tried that, it only has earlier builds and other miscellaneous stuff.

Have a go at this link <a href="http://swankyplace.com/potcbugs/main_page.php" target="_blank">Bug Trackers</a> it is not the same as the one you downloaded from on the ftp site. Then when you get there go down the page your see a few download link and new update.
IncredibleHat try's to keep all new update's up to date on there.
If you have a problem wait till Pieter back, as he away or ask one of the modder's like IncredibleHat or maybe Jason who I am sure will try and help.
BTW you have to instell Pre Build Mod 13 b1 (8-7-06): 1st before you instell Pre Build Mod 13 b3 (19-7-06): I hope that help's.

There's a link on the site somewhere to Free Download Manager, which is exactly that, a free download manager, and it doesn't gather information on your downloads and phone home with it. It's not spyware, and it's very good.

Some of the download managers I've seen, I don't blame you a bit for disliking them. But this one is just a normal computer application, the way they're supposed to be. I recommend it highly.

Not sure why the file(s) doesn't work for you off the swankyplace link. Its a clean upload, other people havn't had issues with it.

It may be your connection dropped before it completed. Any 'resume' able ftp application should combat that issue.

B12.1 must be installed first... and its a self-extrator.
Pre B13 base gets installed second... its a standard zip file (must be extracted on top).
Pre B13 latest update (july19th) goes on last... its also a standard zip file (must be extracted on top).

Sorry, I don't have much other help to offer... cant think of anything else.
 
As Hat has stated it must be your connection, I've just downloaded the file from the swankyplace link & it wasn't corrupted.
All of us here endeavour to help others as much as we can.
 
The regular places for Build 12.1 and the Pre Build 13 are gone for some reason. I PM-ed Keith and William about it yesterday, but haven't gotten a reply yet. I expect it will be fixed in a couple of days though. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
