POTC and Windows Vista

My main gaimg machine runs vista ultimate (don't ask why lol). So far I've had very few issues with potc and the build running on vista. I can't get 14 alpha 7 to work though but oh well not that important. Is anyone making sure that future build will run with vista? I'd hate to see the game go the way of the pirate lol in the future.

I have Windows Vista and PotC Build 14 Alpha 6 works just fine. I don't have Alpha 7 though, so I can't talk about that. You should know PotC CAN work under Windows Vista. I've been running it on my Windows Vista laptop for four months now. It works perhaps less good than on my old PC, but it works just fine. The only "real" problem has to do with fullscreen mode and the mouse not appearing for some reason. This problem was solved when turning on the compatibility mode and turning off the Vista Aero elements when the game is run, but this can easily be made to happen automatically in that compatibility mode.

i have vista ultimate and potc with build 14 a7 works fine, providing you change the resolution to 1024*768 32bit.

Hmmm. I wondered whether it would work on Vista knowing Microsoft don't make things entirely backward compatible. Fear of it not working was why the new PC I ordered was with XP. For me it still works best on XP. In Vista I need to enable the compatibility mode to be able to use the mouse in windowed mode and the windowed mode, which is really useful for testing, works really quite weird. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wacko:" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" />

luckily for me, i've got xp and vista dual booting on my laptop, so i can use either one <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
