Post build 12 error message

I downloaded Post Build 12 mod, but when i extract the files in the game directory I get this error message: <img src="http://uploads.bardiir.de/2005071615452370665.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

What shall I do? I also tried it with updates. Doesn't work.
 
Please turn on error logging, run it again, and post the logs.
It means that something did not extract properly, and so there's an error in the scripts in the PROGRAM folder.

Open (your POTC folder)
Open engine.ini in notepad
find where it says tracefilesoff
make the line look like:
tracefilesoff = 0

Then start POTC and play until the error.
 
That doesn't help. There is the same problem. I think there is a problem with "sea_operator.dll". The error message always appears when the sea_operator.dll is loaded.
 
You need to send me the logs that result.
An error like that _only_ means there is something wrong--some typo, say--in the scripts. It has nothing to do with the DLLs or anything else.
 
I think that is what you want. I found an error.log file.

COMPILE ERROR - file: CCCFunctions.c; line: 1

Ah. That explains a lot. CCC originally used the situations.c file to store his new functions, but then they got moved to the CCCFunctions.c file. And because the situations.c was now, once again, the same as it used to be, the file got left out of newer modpack updates. You could reinstall the game, that would fix it. But I think you would be much happier with a simpler solution: Download the proper original <a href="http://pieter.piratesahoy.net/situations.zip" target="_blank">situations.c</a> file and extract it to your PROGRAM subfolder. That should fix it. Is it normal that ships are so hard to board? And if you strike Battle sails, or all down, they are still all sails out.
 
Hi, when using post b12 and starting a new game I get a blank screen & the main menu is all screwed up. Any ideas please?

How did you install the modpack? You're supposed to first install PotC cleanly, then install Build 12 and after that, install the Post Build 12 mods. If you did that, I don't know what should be wrong. Could you show a screenshot of the messed up main menu*?

* Just press the PrntScrn button on the keyboard when you see the messed up main menu, then open up Windows Paint and press "paste". Then save the file as .jpg and upload it to the forum.

I reckon there must be something wrong in your RESOURCE folder. I think the game is looking for texture and font files that are not where the game is looking for them. Did you install it on a clean PotC installation or after you installed a Czech language pack (you were the one with the Czech language pack, right? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> ). If you used that language pack, I would recommend trying again, but without the language pack. I hope that works... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
 
Nope, no Czech launguage pack for me! I've instaled it again, still not working <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" /> . I'm using a UK version, if that helps? Adam
 
Hang about!!!!! It works- B*@%£* computer decided to work again. Thanks for all your time and effort Pieter no idea why it stopped working or started working again.
