PORT ROYAL JAMAICA

Has anyone ever thought of making Port Royal and the Island of Jamaica?

I think that Port Royal would be a good basis for the eitc and the whole potc scene with sparrows story

There was once the idea to rename all original game islands and towns to real Caribbean towns. Redmond would then be Port Royal. I would very much lke it if this idea would actualy be executed.

yea i think it should be done. if not for the movie then for Port Royal in general cuz it did play a large role in the caribbean during the pirating days

I think that I, apart from other people, was one of the people who suggested changes of the stock islands names (please see thread <a href="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=10006" target="_blank">PotC fully Caribbean</a>). In my version of the game, Alpha 8 WI(VS)P (means: "Work In (Very Slow) Progress") I've added mechanism which will make that change relatively easy. I didn't renamed anything yet... I'll do that when I got some more stable version.

I would love to have those names changed in the game. The more I think about it, the more the non-realistic names begin to bother me. The fact I've sailed around the real Caribbean for months might have something to do with it... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />

This would be AWESOME! The island names are the only real thing that bothered me when I first played POTC. After seeing the real island names in Sid Meiers Pirates game, this was a small letdown for me. Also, it was hard to know where I was when I first started playing POTC w/ the mod and ficticious names.
