please help i need help

i NEED HELP im doing the main quest and i got in jail after meeting Danielle and i can't talk to the
person who lets you out HELP.

He comes up and talks to you.
What exactly is happening? Is he just not comming to your cell or is he just standing there not doing anything?
Describe his movements and what you do exactly.
Did you tinker with any files? That could have caused problems.

I know there has been a problem with the main quest, but this is not it. Problem did pretain to QC dialog of Artois/Blythe which has been fixed. I have not heard of this issue. As a suggestion, why don't you download the June 11th update Pieter has just posted. You will have to start a new game. Saves normally do not work with new updates, but you can give it a try. The new update has fixed some bugs and maybe it corrected your issue. After seeing so many complaints from ppl, just starting to play, about the main quest I went right through it from beginning to end & didnt have 1 single problem.
I really cant understand how it only seems to happen to a very small minority,when I can go through it without any mishaps.

I've play the main quest 12 times. 7 times I go through without any problems. But 5 times I got the problem that important dialouges don't start and after that no keyboard command will be accepted and Nathaniel don't move any more. This error occur randomly in different situations so there wouldn't be any regularitys discovered yet.
But I really don't know why. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
 
Could these problems occur because people didn't install correctly? Maybe some files are missing somehow? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

BTW: The latest update won't fix any quest-related stuff.
 
Pieter, I would think you are probably right that the mods and updates are not being loaded correctly, causing some files to be missing. I have played through several times with no (other than the original QC issue) problems. It just doesn't make any sense that it works sometimes and not others. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

i was looking at the filmes and i axeadently done some thing i should not of touched. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
