Pirates of the Caribbean: Patriots and Emperors

really nice! now, since your doing Napoleonic, why not make some british ships to go with them? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/jackhat.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":j2" border="0" alt="jackhat.gif" />

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" /> Don't know...who is working on it?

Lord nelson, there IS already a pack with Royal Navy ships, it contains Seb`s royal 64 gun, Warship, corvette, frigate, and my sloop of war, and 16 gun brig. they have all a special royal navy deck too. On the ftp is also a white waller frigate reskinned by me, representing the indefatigable form horatio hornblower. The packs are name Bloody Indie stuff and Royal Navy ships, they are in the map Thomas the Terror skinning stuff

My USA ships are on the ftp in my normal map. it isn`t an easy install file so read the installer file. If you like i have made a royal navy brig for AOP, this is on the AOP ftp server, it contains 1 royal navy brig with 3 skins, wooden hull, copper hull and bronze hull. Only that are only the gm files and tx.tga. I will also be not as active as i was, (still active but less, so don`t panic <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />) because i am going to do more for AOP (bought the game this friday).

Sounds good. Man, this schoolwork is really keeping me busy... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mellow.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":|" border="0" alt="mellow.gif" />

How are you all doing with compiling a downloadable first version of your mod? Any luck?

Progress is literally dead. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mellow.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":|" border="0" alt="mellow.gif" /> I haven't had any time save the couple of seconds to get on and check for new files. I'll have to find some time soon where I can sit down and put a bunch of loose files together and get things done.

I wish you all the best. I wished I could be of any help, but I'm busy enough with school and finishing Build 13 as it is. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" />

As you say, my bunch of work and my new life paralyzes me, don't even time to play a second, there'll be a month now i didn't sail...

i have some great news soon at school i'm exually going to learn how to create 3d models <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> and i have the chance to get the program for free i only hope it is possible to create boats and characters then i will be able to help modeling as much as i can

cool, only the modeling isnt very hard i think, but the programming into the game. but it is cool you get it at school.

yea i think so to
yea the modeling isn't that hard if you have the right program and some skills

I don't paticularily care for your plot. Royal Navy officer betraying England and joining the USA in the War of 1812. I'd prefer some that alludes less to 1812, though your attention to that obscure historical episode pleases me, and more to the overall Napoleonic Wars. Perhaps Royal Navy officer starts off as a Privateer, but because his ship helps defend Redmond Port against a French battle-fleet, he is drafted into regular service and ends up leading an English squadron against the French at Falaise de Fleur. You could even end up meeting Lord Nelson before he was an officer and hiring him as an officer. Or if you wish to allude to the War of 1812, you could meet Isaac Brock, for he was stationed in the Caribbean before his regiment was moved to Canada. That'd be cool. But hey, what do I know?

Here's an idea for the plot. Ahem:

In the year 1805 (the beginning of the War of the Third Coalition) there is a simple merchant captain (or whaler, or whatever) making his way through the Caribbean. Upon leaving English port, his ship is captured by French privateers who commandeer his ship to transport supplies for a projected French invasion of the English colonies in the Caribbean. However, on the route back to the French staging grounds for their invasion, the captain escapes, along with his First Mate, a handful of loyal crew, and Boatswain (who dies in the escape). In just a tartane (or gunboat, or whatever), the captain manages to make it back to the English colony and warn the governor of the projected invasion. The Governor, and the Admiral of all British ships in the Caribbean are impressed by the Captain's intrepidy and ability, and make him a Captain of a Sloop-of-war.

Perhaps you could even include the Battle of Trafalgar, as some sort of special mission, in which you are transported to Cape Trafalgar, meet Lord Nelson, are part of the battle and then are transported back to the Caribbean.

Well, my being a Yank leads me to the following:

The War of 1812, also known as "The Second War for Independence", is somewhat overlooked in history. From what I see people tend to think "Mayflower, Revolution, Civil War...". I wanty to look into the period from 1795-1815, where you will get your fais share of Napoleonic Warfare. I want to dive deep into the War of 1812 because "The War at Sea" was a major part of that chapter in American History. How did a puny navy of 6 frigates defeat the largest and most powerful force on the seven seas?!
You will start as a lieutenant in the Royal Navy who is in port re-stocking the ship while your captain is repaired aboard the flag reciving his orders. The French strike, and you escape the burning port by leading the crew a packet boat that sails for Redmond, base of the Royal Navy in the Caribbean Station. You are promoted for valorus service and made commander of a sloop of war.
When war with the United States erupts, you are stationed in the Caribbean, during that time, you have seen the youthful nation's ports many times, made friends, and enemies. The choice is YOURS. Who will you side with? Will you stay loyal to the King and serve in His Majesty's Fleet, alongside your lifelong comerades and friends... or will you and your other friends in the New World band together to fight off the tyrrany and opession that governs them? Remember, you were born from a colonist family, so those of pure English blood look down on you, yet you are still and Englishman who is patriotic. Who will you choose?

Well I am British, and Canadian, so my choice is obvious. My ancestors fought at Waterloo, and Queenston Heights and Lundy's Lane, and Trafalgar. My choice is obvious.

Rule Britannia! Britannia rule the waves!
Britons shall never be slaves!
