2. Can someone make a "presentation sword" like fists in Post-Build-12, where it increases with promotions, instead of rank?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
What should increase with promotions? I think that what you want should be possible, but I don't understand exactly what you want... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
I once had the idea to add some new blades into the game that would be given to you by the governor when you get a high enough rank. Is that what you are after?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Yes, sort of, but for getting promotions, it's one sword, and its stats increase <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/razz.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":razz" border="0" alt="razz.gif" /> whoa just thought of this <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/razz.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":razz" border="0" alt="razz.gif" /> with your choice, sort of like a sword with level up!!

5. Can someone make it possible to be knighted? or inducted into the Legion of Honour?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
If you go up in rank with a nation, you already get the rank of knight eventually. You could code this in differently though, so that it is an additional bonus you can receive. You could also make the player character be given a certain item that is a medallion that will give him certain privileges.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Yeah, the thing i'm working on gets rid of all of the land-based ranks and replaces them with appropriate naval ranks, would be kind of tedious for non-history-nerds, though.

To Johannes Scherjon: Check the following files:
PROGRAM\ISLANDS\Islands_init.c
RESOURCE\INI\TEXTS\ENGLISH\globals.txt
RESOURCE\INI\TEXTS\ENGLISH\interface_strings.txt
RESOURCE\INI\TEXTS\ENGLISH\LocLables.txt
Tip: DON'T change ALL references to Conceicao. Only change the references that are not required by the program, but are just used to display the name correctly. You can change all references in the RESOURCE\INI\TEXTS\ENGLISH, but be careful when changing Islands_init.c. If done correctly, the island will appear as an US island in name, but the game itself still refers to it as Conceicao. But that doesn't matter, because the player doesn't see that. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

To YourObed't Serv't LordNelson: You could make a blade that does more damage when you have a higher level in the navy. You will need to change LAi_events.c for that. You can have a look at my fistfighting code; that should be pretty similar. But you should replace the player character level reference with something that checks the player character's naval rank.

I've made that mistake before. Tried to mod a file and screwed everything up because I didn't leave alone the game refrences and corrupted the file. :p

I finished the translation : all changed to New London
the skins arn't made ingame..becouse I dont have the skins <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
attacked file, first names are some new names please check.

Well then, we need skins! American soldiers should be easy.
<img src="http://www.cr.nps.gov/museum/exhibits/revwar/image_gal/vafoimg/park_images/csfront.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

Once we get the skins in the file, New London should be ready to put into the game! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Commodore John Paul Jones: I would highly recommend using WinMerge. You can make a comparision between the original files and the modded files and see what has been changed for yourself. You then don't need to ask people what it changes, because you can see it for yourself. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Before I extract this, what does this do to the ships?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
This Speeds up French and Spanish ships, takes down the number of British sailors needed, increases British hitpoints, decreases British speed, lowers French (and Spanish I think) hitpoints.

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> Man, Pieter, you really like WinMerge <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Yes, I do like WinMerge, because it's ruddy useful once you got used to it. Warning: You'll use it all the time! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dev.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":d:" border="0" alt="dev.gif" />

Sounds great! Keep it up! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
To all on the mod team: Update, if you please.

Question toYourObed't Serv't LordNelson: I've had a look at that realism mod and especially looked at the Dutch naval ranks. Where the HECK did you find these? "Ondeugd-Admiraal van de Vloot" means something like "Naugty Admiral of the Fleet". <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

LOL! I guess you're a naugty man with alot of ships then Pieter! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Just have one small question here. Been wondering if anyone is gonna make skins for these two? <img src="http://img254.imageshack.us/img254/8256/napoleon1pm.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" /> <img src="http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/5249/nelson21zn.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" /> And whatabout horses? Yeah well this is a primarily naval oriented <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sailr.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":sail" border="0" alt="sailr.gif" /> game but with this napoleonic add on horses will add to the effect. Anyhow, just wondering if it can be done.

Why would you want to delete anything at all? It can only cause additional bugs. Do delete it, you'd have to mess around with a lot of files, including the dialog files and the files in PROGRAM\QUESTS.

Horses won't be possible in this game, I'm afraid. The engine won't support it. We haven't even been able to add static pirates onto characters' shoulders yet and that should be much simpler.

I will start making a load of worn sails tommorrow, and what colour if put on a sail will the game read as if it is not there, i mean if you put the colour on a sail it would make it look like there was a hole there, can you do this with out making a new sale model?
