Just as an FYI...

Having a new publisher (Take 2) has allowed Firaxis to facilitate continued devepment on Pirates!

Patch 1.0.2 (World patch, not just U.S.) will be ready by mid-summer. Thanks for all your patience during our transition from Atari to Take 2. It looks like clear sailing ahead (so to speak).

It may be good news, but think it is news that is over a month old being re-reported.

Something is fishy here.

Aye, Fred Bob! Me hat's in your ring, mate. I'm skeptical of any announcement such as this. I made the mistake of jumping all over the last patch release, and have lived to regret it.
 
This announcement is legit. Barry informed us at HookedonPirates that dshirk is the new webmaster over at Firaxis.

Official announcement is said to be coming out later on.

Ahh groovy, i miss having barry not poke his nose around here, would be nice to know whats in the patch though

Appears that even DShirk cannot find out anything!

Yup, dshirk said that the developers are very tight-lipped about it... Strange stuff... Perhaps they are afraid that someone will steal their work and publish it before they do? OR they want it to be a BIG surprise...

Airsaw gave him the prelim "Letter" and was replied that information was too secret for even DShirk!
 
i noticed the new patch has removed the artillery from the pirate-o-paedia <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" />
 
actually patch 1.02 did nothing to the o'pedia. that was really changed in the previous patch.
and in any case the artillery was removed from game play before initial release.
