You know gents....

all the other games and there modders out there in the gaming world, specifically the rpg gaming world, should be envious of what we have going over here with Potc and the build mod! After all what other game out there has completly been moddified like this one, i can't think of any games that are rpg that let you walk on the deck of your ship before leaving/ landing at port, sail all over, virtually do what ever you want both on the sea and land. in addition most games don't have half the array of ships, ship classes, swords, guns and anyother item in general that we have. i think we've done a great job with making the towns and ports more piratey than it was in the stock game. We as game players and modders are lucky to have a game that is amendable like this one and i hope we continue to enjoy the game for years to come.

so anyways i just thought i'd thank everyone that has helped make the game what it is today and i hope everyone keeps up the good work in the future.

by the way does anyone know of any games designed like potc, but space orientated instead of pirate?

Not so much like PotC, persay, but there are several open source and free-ware space-sim games out there that are free-form in nature like PotC.

<a href="http://vegastrike.sourceforge.net/" target="_blank"><b>Vegastrike</b></a>- is one of the best open source space-sims.

<a href="http://priv.solsector.net/" target="_blank"><b>Privateer Remake</b></a>- is a fan-based recreation of the classic Wing Commander: Privateer game. Based off the Vega-strike engine, it's very true to the original game but with up=to-date graphics and XP support.

<a href="http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/battlecruisermillennium/index.html?tag=result;title;0" target="_blank"><b>Battlecruiser Millennium</b></a>- This game can be really fun or really annoying, depending on how much depth you like in your gaming. Very high learning curve, but fun if u like that "star trek simulator" feel.

<a href="http://www.classictw.com/forum/forum_topics.asp?FID=19&PN=1" target="_blank"><b>Trade Wars 2002</b></a>- is a extremely addictive space piracy/trading game that has a pretty active community. It's ANSI text based, but fast moving and very fun if you join other players in a Corporation.

These are just a few that I know of that are free to play. I have played all of these game extensively and highly recommend them all.

You mean space game like where you can own your own spaceship? where you can go inside and out side manually of your spaceship? can walk in spacestations or on planet? can land or dock with spacestation or planet? ..CURSE!! Yeah you and me both.. someone needs to make Elite 4.

However, with Battlecruiser: Millennium, you can exit your space ship in 1st/3rd person mode and run around on planets, moons, ect shooting at people/things and blowing them to shreds,. but you can't enter starbases or walk around inside ur ship.
 
LOL. Personally I much prefer sailing ships over space ships. But that's just me and I'm one helluva sailing buff. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

I am personally also greatly impressed by how far our game has come. I am also greatly impressed by what can stil be done. There is so many things that can be done, limited only by our imagination and modding power. There are some game engine limitations which are really annoying, but there's plenty of things left to do where these limitations do not matter.
