That was what I was saying. Not an unique item, but a pretty rare one.
A former English corsair could have died and his murderer would have taken the sword, then sold it... and when you enter in Quebradas Costillas store and ask your favorite storeman how his buisness going he could propose this sword to you, his best customer, for a high price... Or you could met the old last survivor of a mighty english corsair's crewmates who had managed to take the sword of his captain who would have died shot by some spanish arquebuse in his last fight, and hide it from the spaniards... Then he could have kept this blade all his life long but now that he's old and seak, he's ready to give it to you, if you kill one of his deadly enemy that once betrayed the famous corsair... Who knows! But there are many way for an English Corsair or his descendants to have lost one of those prestigious swords (more likely with their life) and for others to have taken it.
That would allow the player to find one of this sword without having to serve England - of course with a really, really low probability, in order that it would be really exceptionnal. I imagine you inviting to diner in your somptuous cabin the english captain you captured recently. How cynical it would be to show him this sword while eating... A kind of humiliation...
Or you could meet in the English Islands some rich aristocratic families, descending from a successful corsair, who would have hang up the sword on the cheminy... Or you could met a competitor that is serving England too, have already been awarded this sword and proudly keeps it with him - the difficulty would be to gain a better fame then him, or even to kill him in a duel for the Governor's daughter...
