To use the chat, you'll need to download an IRC client. Below are recommended clients for different operating systems.

<!--sizeo:4--><span style="font-size:14pt;line-height:100%"><!--/sizeo-->Channel Rules<!--sizec--></span><!--/sizec-->

Of course, we couldn't forget rules, could we? All server rules apply, and the following apply to #PotCBuildMod:

1. Do not discriminate based on race, religion, handicap, or any other personal means that could be highly offensive.
2. Do not flood. This is basically entering many messages in a row. You will be auto-kicked, and eventually banned if it continues.
3. Do not engage in flame wars. These conflicts can be annoying and cause hatred among users. Please avoid them.
4. Do not use annoying text scripts of any form. This includes, but is not limited to: away scripts, what music you're playing, making your font an annoying color, premade messages.
5. Do not ask to be an op/halfop. Chances are, the more you ask, the less likely you will, and more likely you'll be banned.

Keep to these rules, and you'll have a wonderful time!

<!--sizeo:4--><span style="font-size:14pt;line-height:100%"><!--/sizeo-->Channel Operators<!--sizec--></span><!--/sizec-->

Operators (ops) and half-operators (hops/halfops) are those that keep the chatroom in order. Halfops can kick and ban, and set some modes. Operators can do everything a halfop can but also set more modes and can make other people ops or halfops. If you have a problem with a user, please PM one of the ops.

    <b>General structure of the channel.</b>

    At the moment the channel staff is as follows:

    <!--coloro:#9932CC--><span style="color:#9932CC"><!--/coloro-->Channel Owner:<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> Mykey

    This staff will grow as needed for proper moderation of the channel. I am looking at people for ops. Do not ASK to be an op. If I feel that you would make a good op, I will ask you if you wish to be one. If you wish to be an op, the best course of action would be consistently good participation in the channel.

    Now, as for Voiced members. These are the members (other than ops) who have a good working knowledge of PotC. These are people who are there to help the Build Mod grow. Now, even if you don't have a nice Voice symbol (or dot, depending on the IRC client) next to your name, answer any questions that you do know the answer to if you can.

I'll be interested to see if people will use this. Personally I prefer using a forum for general discussion because it saves everything that's been posted for future reference.
I do use MSN (or Windows Live Messenger as it is now known <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" /> ) for chatting with PotC forum members sometimes, but there's not many who actually consistantly use it.
Seems that chatting isn't very popular with most of the members here. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

Lol yeah i know, and I took all that time to type that out xD

Everytime I'm on MSN your not on. So I thought you'd be able to use a mirc client.

I'm not much on MSN during the week because I'm away from home for 14 hours a day.
Give it a try in the weekend and you'll have a better chance. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Lol okay. :p It's getting closer. Then we can actually chat quickly about the mod and such.

I left the room open all night incase anyone was gonna register when i was sleeping. x_x woke up just now, and no luck.

I'm spending time programming the room bots to keep the room alive while I'm signed off, yet they'll enforce the rules. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

So anyone gonna join the chat?

Did you register the room so it will always have a bot? That's how it works on other servers, in any case.

Hook

I'll eventually join the room. I usually spend time in IRC since its so handy for live conversation.

don't know about bots ill try to ask some of my friend about the bots they have perhaps one of em will let me use his.
but we have too make sure that its on the same server not just the correct IRC network but the specific server else it going to be difficult.

Well, I successfully logged in, but the only person I see thus far is yourself, LamAnd.

Cap'n Drow

you dont really need a bot with owner on the server
and aslong as that person is using mirc then its simple..
adressbook and control auto op or +v orr wht ever people want

Indeed, my preferred IRC client is mIRC as well. Been using it for many years now and just love it. Lots of options, easy to use and VERY powerful.

Cap'n Drow

Make sure you are logged into swordfish.mo.us.synirc.net

And in the correct room, LamAnd and myself are both there right now.
