Anyone on here ever tried Mount & Blade?

The game is described on the developer's website, <a href="http://www.taleworlds.com/index.html" target="_blank">http://www.taleworlds.com/index.html</a> , as:

"Mount&Blade places you in a dynamic world alive with action and detail. NPC groups in this world are continuously active, journeying, looking for enemies and engaging in battles with each other, whether you are there to see them or not. It is, in a way, a very real world. Events unfold and some quests are resolved through the world's own dynamics."

I find the game insanely addictive, although I don't play it for long stints as I've got no way of getting anything other than the limited demo version - which, by the way, can be purchased online.

The game's due out in stores sometime around May through Paradox Interactive, apparently for the retail price of $50 (if you ask me, that's just a little too high for the game in its current state, although there's supposed to be a lot more added before the retail release, so who knows?). I've been playing since v.751, and the changes I've seen have been enormous. I know I'll be buying it! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

The modding community's grown quite big, with a pirate mod that's been around for quite some time <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />

There is NOTHING in this game that beats skewering some poor sucker with a lance, then launching the still-screaming twit 20 feet through the air! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />
 
oh, most of us heard of it since one of the main modders of the game visited the site some time ago. guy made me bloody edgy. never liked him.
 
Now that's really weird - just after I'd started this topic, I'd posted over on the M&B forums that I mentioned their game over here, and someone replied by saying that they found the PA! forums to be, and I quote, "rather odd".

This person picked a bad day to say this - I promptly asked him how he had managed to live for so long, what with him walking around with his head up his ass - he didn't take this too politely. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

I no longer have an account on their forums, nor do any of my posts (including this last one) appear there anymore - now I wonder why that is, sees how I didn't cancel my account? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

This game doesn't even have any proper anti-virus friendly cracks ..only working crack there is, is the one that needs you to turn off the anti-virus in order to open it. I got some wierd issues in me computer with doing that eventually and deleted the bloody crack. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wacko:" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" /> I'm not going to turn off my anti-virus anymore ..if I do, who knows what bugs may slip in to make my being at the computer total nervous breakdown. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

Bleh.. some "enjoyment" huh? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

The Taleworlds forums are THE place to go if you want to see some REALLY good fights now! There's even veteran members attacking newcomers <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/duel_pa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ixi" border="0" alt="duel_pa.gif" />

I wish I'd taken a screenshot of the thread - then I could go wave it in front of the faces of all the M&B fanboys on some of those game review forums!
