Missing characters.

Is anyone having issues with the characters not showing up in the game? I tried reinstalling and such, and I cant register on the Atari boards with my google or hotmail email addresses.

Anyhow, whenever I go into the Tavern, Merchant, Swordfights, or anything like that, I dont see characters, just floating swords, hats, mustaches (that was kinda funny), and shadows. The game is still playable, but would be much more enjoyable if I could actually see whats going on.

Something's badly wrong with your graphics card. Have you tried tweaking the video settings? Turning off every other program before starting Pirates!?

I don't think so - I have a new graphiccard, fresh from the factory. It runs very well, even much more `graphic-intensive` stuff like Doom3.

I think its more a problem of the card itself. Guest, do you use a GeForce 6600 GT? I do, and I remember that I found another person on a `GeForce-Forum`, who had the same problem with Pirates.

If you have a 6600 also, I think we can pretty safely assume that the error is because of the `GeForce6600-chip`.

Otherwise, were you able to solve the problem? I wasn't till now. I can do the swordfighting wíth invisible bodies, but it isn't the same. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huhh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="k" border="0" alt="huhh.gif" />

Well, besides this bug (which is MAYBE caused by the 6600), its a very cool piece of technology, which caused no trouble, but much fun till now. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />
