Master Expansion Updated v0.31

Oh man! Seeing the options.. Silver Empire era... holding prisoners for sansom... it's almost orgasmic!! I want that Trainer lad! NOW :p

Edit: Here, I have some stuff for you lad! Why don't you take the Notorious Pirates from the classic game? Say... it is possible to add the historic expeditions? Can you add some more trading wares?

Keep up the good work lad.

Cyber has made the game alot more fun for sure pokerface, the only thing in my mind which was a glaring ommittance was the fact that the Xbox version has multiplayer and the PC version dose not, imagine sailing around the map and meeeting other players <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/william.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":will" border="0" alt="william.gif" /> it would totally transform the game for us pirates (i used too play AOSII online all the time and loved it) and can't understand why firaxis ommitted this feature, they (the reveiwers and firaxis) continually go on about the moddability of the game but we know just how hard they made it NOT too mod, gotta wounder sometimes just how cosy ppl are too the developers/publishers these days or the fact that they took their word for it and never tested these things for themselves, myself im looking forward too "age of pirates" but even then a sour taste was left in my mouth when i read that the multiplayer element just means online battles and not sailing around in the world of the carribean and meeeting other players online,is it just me or do developers continually seem too fall short of the mark,i feel they need too get a little more in touch with gaming communities when they start too develope ideas for new games or that they just prefer too take the middle of the road approach so that the appeal of the game hopefully covers all genres,my two dubloons worth anywayz.

A few things on that while brosing trough the .exe of the game i discovered that they where working on a multiplayer online option but then decided to drop that we are currently looking into reanabling those options and what needs to be added to have it multiplayer ready.

Also i like to point out that me and my company are actually considering making a Pirate game ourselves it would be a game made by gamers for gamers lol because all the employees at Chronowerx which is my company are actually all gamers to and all of us use to work for other gaming companies across the globe. We are actually having a meeting on this point after christmas and then decide if we will go for it or not. We already started working on a pirate game 3 years ago but fridged it and never picked it back up again, maybe this would be the time to pick it back up again and finish the product.

Wow! I'm impressed.... Form now on I name you the Pirate God <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Sounds like a great trainer, can't wait until it gets out.
I wonder if they some time would start making builds for pirates in the same way they did for potc.

By the way what does 360 degree camera mean ?

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

that means what it says that you have 360 degrees view all the way around the ship with a zoom in to the deck of the ship.

Sounds great, would you use any spesific keys then to look around with ?

Is this only in battlemode or sailingmode or both ?

Arrh mateys, I've been gone from the forums for quite a while (ever since the great disillusionment that is POTC), but got the bug again when Pirates! came out.
I was very disappointed that Sid left out the 1560's period, silver train, etc. And no rum or tobacco! What kind of `self-respectin`' pirate don't drink 'n smoke? A pox upon political correctness! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dp_nogd.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ng" border="0" alt="dp_nogd.gif" />
Anyways, your trainer promises to fix all of these unforgiveable omissions, and then some. The tobacco is decidedly `non-pc`, and the slaves too.. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dev.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":d:" border="0" alt="dev.gif" />
But I still don't see any rum! I'm hoping that too will make it into the trainer.
Anyways, glad to be back, and looking forward to "Age of Pirates" too.. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

TO SHIPS AND BEYOND~~

Here is some suggestion for your master trainer... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

1st: The Chinese flag should be an old style Dragon flag, It's the symbol of Chinese people back in that time. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />

2nd: If you relly want to put China in the game, then you will have lot's of modelling to do, for EXP... The Main Battle Ship use by Chinese people is a "`13-masted` castle ship", it's a titanic monster, this ship is about 3 times wide and 5 times longer then war galleon. It has about 300 guns and `2000-2500` crews (it's possible this ship also have equiped with `muilt-rocket` systam... Don't believe me? Go chick out the discovery channel about Chinese weapon back in the old time...), it build purely for war. I'm not bullshiting, this is historic, and if you have seen the opening animetion of "Rise of Nations", then you will got the idea about what I'm talking about... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" />

Last to say...

GOOD ON YOU MATE! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" /> HAVE A RUM ON ME!! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" /> WE ALL WAIT FOR YOUR `MASTER-WORK` TO COME OUT!! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" /> AHOY!! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" />

....
If you guys could readd multiplayer
omfgz
where can I send the moneyz? =P

Edit: What pisses me off is, I'd be willing to bet dollars to donuts they dropped multiplayer because of Microsoft. Microsoft likes to force companies that are producing games for its console to drop features and include them only on the `X-Box`.

I don't think Pirates! was ever intended to be multiplayer. Why should it? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/william.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":will" border="0" alt="william.gif" />

I think a better question is, why -shouldn't- it?
Of all games I can think of that are single player and should have multiplayer (Evil Genius comes to mind), this game practically writes itself for multiplayer.

Coudl you imagine how awesome it would be to be able to like 'compete' with living players as top 10 piurates instead of just npc's yoiu kill off? Have boarding battles.. fencing, man.. it'd be lgreat >_<

And how lag it will be... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

Chick out a game made by KOEI, the name is "The Great Age of Sail - Online", it will give you the idea of what it will be for pirate's MP mode... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

KOEI make awesome games!!

<!--QuoteBegin-lucifer8004+--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(lucifer8004)</div><div class='quotemain'><!--QuoteEBegin-->And how lag it will be... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" /><!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

I can gaurantee you, if you limited it to like `6-8` players, there wouldn't be lag. The only part I could feasibly see being hard to do would be the fencing, because historically, fighting games in general (that are reaction based) require broadband to function at any level. The packet delays just create too much of a "my modem > your modem so I win" situation if the game is improperly coded.

I've been doing a bit of network coding for a few years now. You just have to limit the amount of information you send at any time. Locational information is usually all thats necessary, especially in a Pirates! multiplayer case. You allow like `8-10` players (a full roster of 'the top 10' so to speak), and only transmit locational data and anytime a major event occurs like someone sacking a port or whatever. Of course, this means most of the information would be handled locally and would be hackable, but, seriously, can you name an RTS or strategy game, short of MMO games, that isn't?

WEll I'm gonna shut up now, Ever since the commodore 64 days I wanted to be able to fight friends in ship battles, etc, it's unhealthy to want something that long =P

^So... Cyber... when will you finish the trainer? I can't wait to play the Silver Empire Era... When can we download it? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Yeah Cyber! I went onto the Chronowerx website and signed up for the beta of the trainer lol! When can we use it? It sounds soooooo cool! I really can't wait to use it! Plz plz plz!!!!

<!--`QuoteBegin-lucifer8004`+--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(lucifer8004)</div><div class='quotemain'><!--QuoteEBegin--> The Main Battle Ship use by Chinese people is a "`13-masted` castle ship.....[/quote]

didn't find much on the net any reference links except discovery channel?

im chinese so i know my history. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> In any case, the 13 mast ship, by the time of the Pirates, has already been decomissioned and mothballed. The Chinese fleet, composed of 13 mast ships that were minature towns were gigantic, larger than any ship of the line the West made. In fact, the Chinese `13-masted` warship was built during the time of the Roman Republic and was equipped with cannons like a MOW. The cannons of course, weren't like those of the Pirates! cannons.

The Chinese fleet sailed to the Middle East and to the tips of Africa before turning back to China, thinking that no advanced civilization existed aside from China. Later on, a political struggle ensued and the entire military of China was stripped. By the time the English found China, she was militarily at its weakest and easy to exploit.

However, seeing that much of the world of Pirates! Is somewhat historically incorrect (and so what?!), it would be absolutely fantastic if you could add a massive 13 masted Chinese warship. Of course...that ship would own so maybe if you guys are concerned about political correctness or whatver maybe it shouldn't be put in. Me? Hey! I would loooove to have a huge ships to blow apart towns with!!!

One request though...I was watching the 'Pirates of the Burning Sea' combat teaser. Cyber...could you make the smoke from the cannons extend longer out so instead of say 3 inches on screen you could make it go 6 or even 8 inches out?

Lucifer...you are very, very good at history! I am impressed! Also, you forgot to add the following:

The Chinese warship was equipped with rocket launchers of two types. The first was like the conventional rocket of today...it smashes into the ship. The second type of rockets had a warhead that detached and exploded into shrapnels...much like a grenade, killing the crew.

At close ranges, the Chinese also invented the first flamethrower. This allowed them to burn the enemy's hull and their crew. The flamethrower was air cooled I think. As to the method of delivery I can't quite remember...I forgot to take notes in class. In anycase, the flamethrower was more of a psychological thing than merely for killing

The warship wasn't only built for war though. In Zheng He's fleet, he had hundreds of ships. Some were built and armed purely for war. Others were purely for carrying cows. Others were purely for carrying soldiers. Another was purely for carrying chickens. Another was purely for carrying horses and so on.

Meals were very, very fresh.
