Making of a ship

Hey all,

[I use Maya 5.0]

I got no respons after a Reply in a other post so I ask my question here
(a bit else)

I got de 3D Model of my ship finished and I got textures on it right now....... but how do I safe those textures
BTW: I only see the textures if I click on ''Render the current frame (Maya software)'' or something...
Did I something wrong?

Do you have those texture files somewhere? Save them as TGA, export to TGA.TX with the TX Converter and place them in RESOURCE\Textures\Ships.
 
bevor you can export with MAYA.

Create a locator (use search function: look at INZANE´S STEP BY STEP)

in one window view disable under SHOW all but not the locators.
 
ok, I got the textures and I gonna convert them now, but if I place them in the right map are they automatically founded by the ship or something?

and I have now that only the locaters are showed, then export????really? do I really can't export with show all????
 
If you mapped your ship model with the textures, they will be automatically loaded in the game. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

When you export with show all, the result is nothing!
You must only activate locators. Says AKELLA.
 
I got materials and textures, I can export them in the Hypsershade...
I exported the materials to tga and the textures to tga....
But I can't convert them to tga.tx...why? (I use TX converter or something from this site)


(If I'm finally clear with this ship, I build others without help^^ So then all those questions are over)
 
in TX-Converter is your .tga file on the left side.
you must search the folders for the left and right side.
activate it with a double klick and than press "convert" and your finished .tga.tx file is on the right side.
 
That part I know, but on the TGA name I see a cirlcle with a curve in the middle, and if I convert that one, I got an error

Sry, for my bad english. I just dunno how to say that xD

In Dutch:
dat weet ik al, maar op de TGA naam zie een een rondje met een streep door het midden, en als ik die convert krijg ik een error
 
How did you make the texture file a TGA? I've seen that before, but that happens when you don't have the "save as TGA" settings correctly. What program do you use for it?
 
Just Maya 5.0

I just click on Export all>save files everything(or something)> and I save it as .tga
 
Any program that can save TGA files will do. Make sure the export settings are correct in the program so that the TX Converter accepts them.
