In know its a bit of a trivial topic, but is the light manowar from aop in the build 14 alpha? I couldnt find it in the ships.init. Is the model still included?

Sorry to be a pain, as I know theres still lots to be added which is is much more important to build 14 but I just loved that ship! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> Is the ref_ship can encounter line set to false and I just cant find it cos im looking in the wrong place or something?

at first i read l33t manowar. oy. anyway, the name's simply changed after it got reskinned.

Some AoP ships were removed from Alpha 8 because we decided to no longer have unmodified models from other games in there for copyright issues.
 
Indeed we are, but we don't particularly like the noose. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
 
Ok; thanks anyway. Just one other question; if I were to copy Ships.init and the model and texture folders of build 14 to a build 13 skeleton, would ihave the ships from build 14? Stuid i know, but is it phesable ant all? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

That can indeed be done, as long as you make sure the ships_init.c entries are properly compatible with Build 13.
That might require some work.
 
I did something similar a little while ago, you can find it <a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?showtopic=12168" target="_blank">here</a>

There was an issue with incorrect sails being set for a couple ships, the fast barque is one for sure, that I corrected in my own mod after I put that up for download. Also the texture for the new schooner is incorrect. They're easy fixes to make in the ships_ini.c file though.

Ah, I had forgotten that. It may be possible to add the ships without the need for a restart if you're careful to only add entries and not modify them.
I had replaced several entries with their newer counterparts and so it required a new game.

Here, I'll list the files I had to modify:

/Program/Ships/Ships_init.c
/Program/SEA_AI/shipWalk.c
/Program/SEA_AI/walk <-copy over new walk files
/Program/BATTLE_INTERFACE/BattleInterface.c

/Resource/INI/TEXTS/language.ini <-not sure about that one
/Resource/INI/TEXTS/ENGLISH/Common.ini
/Resource/INI/Interfaces/pictures.ini

Going off topic a bit, i managed to find the storyline file and change the start ship to the Endeavour. when i do this on the bartolomew quest it works, but when i use the standard quest nathaniel just stands there doing nothing. Do i need to change something else?

Im not a hacker, I just wanted to see the nice ships! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

I'm going to start a new game, are their new character skins in build 14 alpha that weren't in build 13, and how easy would it be to add them into build 13? What files would need editing?
 
Characters? Just copy all required files and initModels.c entries and you should be good.
As for the starting ship: I always just use the GiveShip2Character function through the console instead. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
