Language in German Pirates! ?

I think all the texts will be in German, but the speech will be firaxian if I remeber correctly.

I will buy me an US or UK Version anyway. I'm no fan of translations.

I dont like translations too but i do like the german box, `T-Shirt` and the big map that`s in the german Collectors Edition.

I never said something about Firaxian <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />. I think what Cat means if they characters speak. They speak their own language like the Sims too i think. But i don`t think they will "translate" that to german because it`s just not possible. In the Sims they didn`t translated it either.
 
Yes, the characters, such as the bartender, the mysterious stranger, the governor, all have soundbytes to go along with their animations and typed dialog. The soundbytes are in no recognizable real language, just something recorded by Firaxis to put in the game. It's gibberish, and as SirDrago mentions, rather like Simspeak (but not as `idiotic-sounding`, LOL!).

And no, it probably won't be translated or changed. I'd truly miss it if it were, as I think the gov and the bartender especially have some nice "dialog" soundbytes. You lads will probably enjoy the murmurs (and other noises) of the ladies in the game. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
 
The barkeep ends the conversations with, "Shongdonay", which of course means, "Safe Travels and may the Gold of many a Galleon fill your hold." I looked it up in the Pirate Dictionary.

And the governor's daughters all curtsey with, "Doweeta" which translates to mean, "My Goodness Cap'n Toast, you are indeed the most ravishing rogue I have ever met. Too bad I am just an animation, otherwise I am sure we would live happily ever after." Another Pirate Dictionary find.
 
I love how the Gov says farewell and then mutters under his breath - it's like he's saying Good bye, fair winds! (you bloody pirate, stay away from my daughter!). <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
 
Heh, whatever it is, it's just a mite contemptuous, and funny even tho you can't understand it. Perfect comedic timing. They did a nice job with it.
