Interface Project

About theodolite: This is something like upgrades secstant, but it doesn't fitt to PotC, 'couse it first time showed (created) in 19th century...

Considerable improvement, I like it very much. The entire UI of PotC is too 'cartoonish' for my taste, I like this new design direction <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

What crystall skulls doo egsactly ingame? I found 3 of them inside items7.tga.tx. but buy the mayan legend there should be 13... So What crystall skulls doo egsactly ingame?

the do egsactly nothing. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blah:" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

I just asked, becouse I found this info from howstuffworks.com and wikipedia.org...
<!--QuoteBegin-http://science.howstuffworks.com/crystal-skull.htm/printable+--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (http://science.howstuffworks.com/crystal-skull.htm/printable)</div><div class='quotemain'><!--QuoteEBegin-->But according to believers in the supernatural and the occult, crystal skulls are more than just interesting artifacts. They may represent doom and destruction, or hope and healing. Some people think that crystal skulls can be used like crystal balls to see visions of the past, present and future. They claim that the skulls emit psychic energy, auras or even sounds. Believers point to Mayan creation myths that reference crystal skulls and a story that 13 crystal skulls were scattered by the Mayans thousands of years ago to be discovered and reunited in modern times.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
<!--QuoteBegin-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crystal_skull+--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crystal_skull)</div><div class='quotemain'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Another novel and historically unfounded speculation ties in the legend of the crystal skulls with the completion of the current Maya calendar b'ak'tun-cycle on December 21, 2012, claiming the re-uniting of the thirteen mystical skulls will forestall a catastrophe allegedly predicted or implied by the ending of this calendar. An airing of this claim appeared (among an assortment of others made) in The Mystery of the Crystal Skulls,[47] a 2008 program produced for the Sci Fi Channel in May and shown on Discovery Channel Canada in June. Interviewees included Richard Hoagland, who attempted to link the skulls and the Maya to life on Mars, and David Hatcher Childress, proponent of lost Atlantean civilizations and anti-gravity claims.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

And so happende, that I made 13 skull icons <img src="http://forum.piratesahoy.net//style_emoticons/default/user_comment.gif" border="0" class="linked-image" />

<img src="http://i37.servimg.com/u/f37/12/87/19/25/skulls10.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

I thinked about efect of those... If they realy do nothing to game thro coding (stats bonus do not counts)... Every skull gives somekind of bonus to stats and penality... and if you'll have all 13 skulls in inventory, you'll have no penality nor bonus...

Why don't I see those compass interface images???
In any case, I made them using pictures that Morgan Terror posted on the forum.
If you can do a better job, feel free to do so and we can add that to Build 14. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />
As for the skulls, indeed they do nothing, but it'd be cool if we could add a purpose.
Especially now that you made 13. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Someone could code that when you enter chael roa temple with all 13 skulls in inventory, somethink happens and ect... I don't realy know quest reaction configure, so don't shure how to do that... (and already have lot's of work)

What you all thin abou this? I could replace those bottles of alcohol... or even potions... or I should add them as seperate items? or even don't use those?
<img src="http://i37.servimg.com/u/f37/12/87/19/25/potion10.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

i'd say that you can use the 13 skulls with that temple on hispaniola. that doesn't have a purpose either yet.

The skulls were used to telepathically communicate over long distances? Or was it with the dead? Tying them in with a voodoo/mojo/hojo temple sounds like a good idea.

Didn't mean to be insulting to you morgan, I just like photo-realistism over stylization, not that there's anything wrong or bad about your UI images.

Yes.. it's simply a clock. But if you are like me and interested in etymology; It is infact a portmanteau of two words.

The greek word for time, chronos, and the middle latin word for measure, metrum.

Thus a Chronometer may be any device constructed to measure the passage of time. However, in the naval context, a chronometer is generally taken to refer to a timepiece of great accuracy fixed to the ship so as not to be disturbed and used in astronomical navigation.

I would personnaly remove all the skulls. For what I've heard, the first one ever found was proven to be a fake, made in the mid XIX century. In my opinion so must be all the occult stories surrounding them. But hell, in COAS you'll be able to discover the 'lost city of Technotitlan'. So why not fake cristals with dummy stats bonus.

I heard that think with XIX fake skull... It was realsize skull, and it was first skull who was shown on public museum... but if you more read (I used wikipedia), there always was found REAL crystal skulls, some of them was realistic size, other was small and ect... And the legend is real (as far real as legend can be)...

Now working on Items1.tga.tx.... Deleted those words, and now there is 7 unused slots... I want to fill them, mightbe there is some request or something? Mightbe someone wants to share some ideas for new icons(items)?
