How to sneak to the tavern?

The location pointed to by the white arrows always seems to be the governor's house. So far I have had no reason to sneak to the gov's house.

Is it possible to sneak to the tavern? Where do I find it? I'd prefer to sneak there to apprehend one of those "escaped from justice" guys for several thousand gold.
 
In my sneaking .. the tavern has always been just past the Governors house on the right. Try passing the Guv's house and heading UP (towards top of screen) one or two blocks and then a tad right.. Good luck.

It also has lights on and you can hear the crowd inside the tavern...
 
You can see white arrows in the city, they show you the way to the governor´s house. The tavern is mostly near of this building.
 
As they said, the tavern is always a little northeast of the governor's place. As you get close "Tavern" will appear in white letters over the building. Also it is always a small pinkish building.
 
That's right. However, the little white arrow signs disappear in the higher difficulty levels, such as Swashbuckler. Nevertheless, you can still use the Governor's manor as a reference point.
 
There should be the merchant because the false moustache and the disguise outfit would be irrelevant otherwise. I myself never found the merchant without one of these items. I´ll have to give it a try now.
 
Why irrelevant? I always trade with the merchant after I've entered a city by attacking it, to squeeze the last gold coins out of them. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
 
The merchant might be logical, as you can arrage some smuggling even without carrying the goods with you, the shipwright... well, it´s kinda hard to smuggle a ship into a fortified harbour, I imagine.
 
Yep, and if there was a shipwright in the sneak screen it would be somewhere near the harbor, where you start out anyway. Never seen one there so far, so I guess there ain't one.
 
All you need to do is get into the tavern; after that, you can access any other part of the town (or exit) through the regular menu. You DO need the disguise if you want to deal with the merchant if you haven't, as Nem has suggested, sacked the town first! I can't imagine myself actually paying for goods from a merchant in a town I just sacked. I think I would be much more likely to just take all the items I wanted in return for not burning his house... but, that's just me.
 
I don't think the merchant of a big city will trade with you if you have just plundered it. I just do not get any options. Good thing, IMO. Or, if there was an option screen after leaving a place you sneaked into, it should at least be different from the normal option screen... (nighttime, no option for shipwright and dividing up the plunder etc).
