How to get new ships playing like naval officer

Hi Sailors.

One question, If I´m playing like naval officer, How I get better ships, I must Buy it? or the Admirality will give me a new ship?

That one.
When you gain a promotion, you'll get a new ship.
Maybe an extra officer and/or a sword too.

Also when you become a Commodore you will be able to switch ships and use Prize ships as your own.
