How do you fix a pathing issue?

I DL games from Amazon and they install usually on desktop , the setup files in one folder after the downloaded finishes. I am trying to patch a game up, but the patch refuses to recognize the game as installed.

Well i found out the game came released tot he patched version, so no issue!
