How do I turn off the PM function?

Every other forum I'm a member of, there's an option usually that says... "Allow Private Messages" Yes/No

I can't see it in my Profile, is it somewhere else?

I can´t see these feature either. It´s not standard in php Forums / communitys. I don´t know if this is a hack / script that has to be included by the admins/webmasters that this option will work. In my opinion we don´t need these feature. I don´t think someone will still bomb you up with annoying private messages. I look forward to what our female admin is thinking about this.

1) Because I'm `anti-social` (lol) <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
2) To stop spam (people asking for CD keys, etc)
3) I prefer to do my dirty washing in Public <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

This is the first forum I've seen where you cannot turn it off (regrdless of it using php protocols)

I´ll agree with you in point 2. I could've sworn that it was, but apparantly this feature really isn't included in the standard phpBB. Well, just turn off the PM notifications and ignore your inbox if it gives you peace.

Well, around Xmas the new phpbb should be ready and i think that has part of it as standard we will be changing over to is as son as it hits beta
