Ahoy Rad!

Great to see you here again. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

I got your e-mail and will reply later today. (I have a meeting to go to this morning).

Pieter's message on loading the game is the one to follow.

Glad your back.

Thank you mates for you replies and care. Pieter there is no need for your supprising. I would play PoTC further but something wrong happened on my old computer and I couldn´t install my beloved game anymore without its reinstalling and I didn´t want to do because there were some my another cherished programs and games which I would lost in this case. Anyway I am here again and I hope I won´t be iritate your nerves and nerves of some another modders as it seemed to me from time to time in tha past. I always want the best for the game. So Jack and Pieter what would you recommned to play ? Build 13 or 14 ? I would like to play something new but simultaneously what can be played out to the end without any fatal bugs as impossiblity to take over the fort in the late phase of the game and so on. I have quite fast computer now and I hope PoTC will working on it. Just now I installed basic game and it works somehow and it is substantial I think. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

I like this new appearance of the forum. I seems to me simplier and much more practice than the previous one. I like plain things. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

boo. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":))" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" />

it would be a good idea if you installed the directsail mod on top of build 13. you can download it from the FTP. then you can sail from one island to the other without using the worldmap.

You can try Build 14 Alpha 6, which is pretty playable. Far from being perfect, but most people seem to agree it's pretty good. You can then also try to install Alpha 6 Update 2, which contains some fixes and some new stuff, but I'm not sure if it is actually more or less buggy than the ordinary Alpha 6.

The DirectSail mod that allows you to sail from island to island in 3D sailing mode without using the worldmap is part of the Alpha, but can also be installed seperately on top of Build 13 using <a href="http://piratesahoy.net/potc/ccc%20experimentals/Directsail_jan25.zip" target="_blank">this</a> download if you do want to try that mod without using one of the Alpha's.

I have problem. My program System Mechanic always deletes something from PoTC that causes this game stops working. It seems to me it is something about registration of the game and this game is created so unhappily that it is inflicted by it. This program doesn´t affect any of my another games nor programs but only PoTC. I don´t know what to do but I have no intention to abandon this great program for repairing and cleaning computer. I would like to learn what it is exactly what is deleted repeatedly and how to manage this situation to haven´t to install the game every third day anew. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

Could you try removing System Mechanic and replacing it with some other program that performs the same tasks?

CCleaner works quite well, and it's free: <a href="http://www.ccleaner.com/" target="_blank">http://www.ccleaner.com/</a> Although it doesn't do near everything System Mechanic does, it lets YOU decide what registry entries it finds problems with should be fixed or removed. It found over 18GB of hidden temporary files on my computer the first time I ran the program <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> !

I wouldn´t replace System Mechanic in any case. I bought it and like it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

What you could do is to install the game correctly, then put it in a ZIP-file. Then wait until the file is removed and the game stops working. Now extract the ZIP file you made elsewhere and perform a WinMerge on both folders. This will allow you to see the differences and should show you what happened to make the game stop working. You can find WinMerge on <a href="http://www.winmerge.org" target="_blank">winmerge.org</a>.
