why not now you do no it can be done. I mean ya its not as easy with all advance milatary the world has now but if you play your cards right it can be done I mean its nothing more than smugglers and people smuggle stuff all the time like drugs and stuff, it has it's risk but the risk has as alway been there and now that we live in modern time most people would not expect piracy to still be around but belive me it is.

Piracy is still fairly common in some areas of the world. There are still cases of out and out piracy in the South Pacific, Indonesia, and Yellow Sea. Its a pretty fair chance your going to end up victim to piracy in those places if you meet a few of the following criteria:

1) You are a foreigner
2) You have an expensive Yacht
3) You flaunt your money in a very poor area of the world such as those listed
4) You travel to exotic and remote areas, such as a private island or whatnot, without armed guards
5)You are a rich foreigner who flaunts money in poor areas of the world and likes to travel to exotc, remote areas without armed guards.

You are lucky if you get away with only bieng held for ransom and losing your expensive yacht.

Yes, good point I live in Australia and we hear about the modern day pirates alot as they are north of us and they have changed their ship from sails to powerful engines and automatic weapons.

Nowadays its a harder Job to become a pirate, stay alive, don´t get caught. In good old times none of the pirates has to think about biometric dates, Dna, etc.. if he does something criminal.
