Guaging level of interest for some new skins

ReiFukai

Landlubber
Just wanted to guage the publics level of interest in some new skins I wanna try my hand at before actually sitting down today and painting them up. Feel free to comment, thats why I am asking...

Character 1)

Guybrush Threepwood

<img src="http://home.midsouth.rr.com/omnistar/gbtw.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

Character 2)

Captain Thomas Bartholomew Red (Walter Matthau) from Roman Polański's "Pirates"

<img src="http://home.midsouth.rr.com/omnistar/cbr.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

Character 3)

Damien Thomas as "Don Alfonso Felipe de la Torre" also from "Pirates"

<img src="http://home.midsouth.rr.com/omnistar/daf.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

Later on in the day I am also of the mind to attempt to try to make some 'little guys', children and young adults as optional skins... such as

<img src="http://home.midsouth.rr.com/omnistar/midship.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

I have no idea what sorta work has been done in this area or if its even possible under the games current engine... I figure the illusion can be achieved due to the little cursed monkeys all over the place... but not if that monkey can be in the party or not... soooo if you have some knowledge on this please let me know. Thanks in advance! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/type_1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":nk" border="0" alt="type_1.gif" />

I think Guybrush don't look right in PotC. But that's my personel opinion.
I like the idea to bring Captain Thomas Bartholemew Red (pretty cool scruffy looking pirate <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sailr.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":sail" border="0" alt="sailr.gif" /> )and Don Alfonso Felipe de la Torre into the game. This could be great skins I think. The Don Alfonso skin could replace the Admiral skin on Isla Muelle.

Well if I where to do guybrush, he would of course, look correct in the world... some of my skinning background has been in taking 'anime' and fictional jet/prop aircraft and creating real world skins with them... so 'anything' is possible.... just wanted to see if it was something that people were interested in as guybrush is really... one of the most memerable characters in the pirate pc genre. "the face that launched half a dozen sequals" as it where.

an example would be something like this...

<img src="http://home.midsouth.rr.com/omnistar/a88f5v1.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />
Shin Kazuma's F-5 Tiger II from the anime series "Area 88" skin for Lock On Modern Air Combat.

In contemplating "the little guys", and looking over some of the wireframes... I see this as being something that will require some effort to get going (atleast so it looks half way right), comments and/or suggestions on this topic would be greatly appreciated as I just assume not attempt to re-invent the wheel if someone has tried this in the past... Thanks in advance as always!

On another note; the captain red/ n' cast n' crew from "pirates" is a part of my whole master plan to do a series of quest that mirror the movie in which you play the part of captain red, I am about half way done with a logical flow chart for the quest... just thought it would be interesting/entertaining to for those who care to do/enjoy... not that I need a reason to do this, but the in game quest are... well... stupid... so I just assume put a little pep in that gives a neat little quest, and results you with all your money leaving your pocket, your rep in shambles, all your worldly possessions gone, in return you get a campanion in arms, and a unique boat worth 1,000,000 pesos should you want to sell it; or better yet 'keep it' and with it bragging rights... or sumthing. hah!

Whoaa, I'm looking forward to the release of your quest series.
I love the movie (especially the scene where they had to eat the rat <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sick.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eww" border="0" alt="sick.gif" /> )and loved to be like Captain Red. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

I like the midshipmen idea. I could add 'em to our P&E mod. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

It is not possible to make new character models, only to change existing ones. You can change the models though. <a href="http://home.arcor.de/swigard/Downloads/TOOL" target="_blank">Inez Dias' tool</a> is an excellent help. There is a feature in there to make kid-size models as well. There is one kid-size model in the game already: Diller. You can also do head-switches. I don't think you can add a monkey to the character model though. Unless you change the model. But you can't really change the animation, which would make for weird effects.
