Great Life Force chests & Temple of White Gods

How do i open the 2 chests in Great Life Force and montezumo said use knife to open the temple of white gods. I killed everyone already. Where do i find it? I want the mummy powder and whatever good loot inside.

Also inside the great temple ground floor, there is a place to put something a totem there, but all my 10 totem had been used already.

There's a little pool to the left of the temple (looking from the bridge) that leads to an underwater labyrinth. You need to navigate that, at the end you'll find a chest with a totem. You insert that into the slot in the temple, which opens one of the chests. In it you'll find a knife, you use that to open the temple of the white gods.
