Need Help Game started crashing for no reason (I think)

Pretty explanatory title - the game started crashing, after I changed the gamemode to realistic instead of arcade, changed the sails to weathered with accurate emblems and turned off auto-looting, and now the game started crashing every 3-4 minutes, or so. I have not messed with any files, nor have I updated the game, as I'm not thinking of starting a new character, at least for now.

Try deleting the file named "options" from your main game folder, then try again.
You'll need to change your settings to your liking after you've done this.

Delete "options", run PoTC, change your settings the way you like them, then quit. You should now have a clean "options" file with all your settings. Make a copy of it. Next time weirdness starts happening, delete the current "options" and copy the copy back into place. That way you don't need to change all your settings again.
