Forum and Site Issues

I'm having some issues with the forum and site.

For the forum, sometimes I get an "ISP"(?) database error, preventing me to use the forum. Usually this fixes itself within five minutes or so, but it's thoroughly annoying.

As for the main website, I cannot access it anymore. The upper half of the page loads, then I get an error message "Internet Explorer can't display the page" or something like that and then I get a white error screen instead.

The above issues occurred on two completely different computers, so it's not a local issue.
Stranger still, after having the main site error a couple of minutes ago, now the page <i>does</i> load and subsequently stopped working again. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wacko:" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" />

Its like people experience this thing in turns. I got nothing but exactly what you describe for two weeks one month ago, then it was someone elese and now its you. But I know nothing about weblogins, cookies or what causes the problem sorry.
 
I know you get it when im doing an database backup (the ipb driver issue)

With the main site, I don't know, I've never had it happen to me before.

Does it happen the same time as the ipb driver error?
 
Doesn't seem to happen at the same time. Right now I CAN load the main page, but I get the error again when clicking "Game Info>Other games". And now, again, the main site itself gives the same problem again. But the forum does appear to be working.
 
It hasn't happened to me on the main site, but it happens occasionally on the forum.
 
I can't open the front page. www.piratesahoy.net.
It loads the piratesahoy banner, and then it just says error, and gives me a blank page that say something like "unable to load page"

It's been like this for 3-4 days now...

The site tends to go wacky on me every Wednesday. Sounds like LongJohn Gold has the same problem as I do. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />
 
Funny your both from the same area, I have no problems here.

I dunno, maybe timing out?
 
I don't know either, but it does still happen. VERY annoying. And I'm pretty sure it wasn't always like this. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />
 
Indeed, I regularly am getting an error on the main page as well. Sometimes will load up no problem, but when it does it does so in a big way.

I keep having this problem and for that reason have been unable to check out the main site for many days now from two completely seperate computers (my home and my work computer, both separated by about 60 km or so). <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />
 
It really does sound like the main site issue is that it's timing out.

The forum could be the same with the database if it's happening frequently.
 
The forum usually works; the main site hardly ever does. It starts loading the page, but I get an error message after the top of the page (banner and navigation bar) are loaded and then I just get the IE error page. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />
 
What browser are you using, firefox?
 
Keith, I am getting the same problem with IE. Firefox opens it just fine, no problems there at all. However with IE it loads the banner just as Pieter says, but then I get an IE popup window asking me to start a wizard to fill out forms. It then proceed to time out and I get another IE popup telling me that it can't load the page. Not sure what is going on, I'll dig into it a bit further and see if I can track anything down. The forum does load ok though.

My mistake, that was some MSN Live crap I got confused with IE ...sometimes it's tough to tell crap apart! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
