Fomrating...and stuff

Hello all. I am wondering, is there a way to put Win 98 on a drive formated for NTFS, so that when I reinstall WinXP upgrade, it will be NTFS instead of FAT32? If there is an easier way how do I do it? I already have my files backed up.

No, you cant put Win98 on a NTFS formated drive, because Win98 wont work with NTFS.
But their is a possibility that might help you, format FAT32 and convert later to NTFS.

If you want a clean installation of XP you don't have to install Win98.

Just reformat your hard drive then boot up from the XP CD.
At a certain point it will want to verify that you have got Win98 and you can do that by just swapping the XP disc for the Win98 disc and then swap back when it's been verified.

I have done this myself on about 4 or 5 installations of XP without any problems.

Ok, how does one do a full formatting. making sure that it is NTFS....?
