First Person Crew v1.5

Avernus

Landlubber
Age of Pirates - First Person Crew for v1.5 English [attachmentid=935]

This small mod adds 3D crew to your first person perspective or Deck Camera. This was added to Supermod but some of the information on this topic is out of date. I could not find a mod for v1.5 so I went ahead and made one for new players and veterans not running Supermod. This mod will decrease performance in Deck Camera.

Extract to your Age of Pirates installation folder and enjoy.

Do not forget to backup your original file! Restore your backup file to turn crew back off in deck camera.

Thanks for the Files, and I will give them a go!
I have both Installs, 1.51 and SM/5.
1.51 seems to be more stable than SM/5 but lots
of stuff missing. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" />

there is only 1.5 as far as I know, there is no 1.51 patch as far as I know but few people said before, but last time I checked office web site, still 1.5 patch but none said about 1.51

I am all for big mods but for mods of that size they do need lots of testing and debugging. Especially when we are talking about gameplay changes. They need to be tested extensively. For myself I opted for a NO StarForce retail v1.5 installation to start with and go from there. That doesn't mean I don't want some of the features in Supermod it's just mods of that scope are usually a bit over ambitious and things end up getting rushed. For example I liked alot of features in the Build mod for PoTC but I hated 85% of everything else they crammed in there. No regard for performance or anything they just went crazy with features and made more of everything. Developers can get caught up in this too. Hell why have sharks around my boat in every scene in the game? Sure the sharks look cool and its nice to see some now and then but not every time I switch to external camera. I've seen around 8 sharks at any given time and who needs sharks when Im busy blasting enemy ships. Looks so much better without them. Same goes for the bloody 2D prop trees I call em lol. Like from grade school or something.

So far my game is very stable. It hardly ever crashes but I do get hit with some memory leaks and still have the same bugs as everyone else playing v1.5 AoP is very quick to load and save though so when I do run into a memory leak I just make a new save and quit then restart. Hopefully in the end game I won't have as many problems as I think I might in which case I will end up trying Supermod if I can get a decent download going or get a download going at all. I like the idea of fixed memory leaks and stuff of that nature plus the gameplay bugs I just don't like how things can get carried away after that. I don't need to walk through the jungles or have access to all the ships right from the start. I want to play the game the way it was meant to be played with some touch ups and fine tuning. Since I could not find a simple 1.5 download for some tweaks like the deck crew I made my own.

I'm working for the french governor, done over 400 jobs for
him and captured 4 english and 1 dutch colonie by his orders!
Never had a CTD ever and I'm very pleased! SM/5 does crash
on a regular basis, and I'm beginning to favour 1.5 ,even so it
lacks the features of SM. Working for a Gov. in 1.5 is better too.
Never ever got the order to capture a colony in SM and I'd done
over 30 of them, beginning to think that I run a Taxi Service for him.
You're quite correct, Avernus, Modders cramping to much halve done
Stuff into the game, instead of fixing things! The Mefisto quest in
POTC is a good excample!! Did I mention the Buildset?! Not getting
people upset now, are we??!! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whippa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":whipa" border="0" alt="whippa.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />

Wow sounds like your commanding your way to victory. I am still very new to the game. I haven't had anything larger than a Brig yet as I had to restart with some harder settings. Now I am finding it quite tough with simple AI off. I fear I may have to set Nation Growth to normal though. I am basically a taxi/small trader right now myself.

Very considerate that you don't want to upset people <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> But why should anyone bother to sacrifice his sparetime with fixing things that YOU want fixed? Especially if the reward he gets is idle nagging?

If you want a Build that contains only mods that meet your high standard of perfection you will have to make it yourself. Have a try, might be an enlightening experience.

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/poet.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hmm" border="0" alt="poet.gif" /> ok than, no harm in trying is there?

Easy said for you, for some people they willing to mod if they understand how and what would work with program, some couldn't edit or fixing or understand how to fix those thing due to thier small brain, they has no brain at all even they check file inside, they couldn't understand, not all have a same brain. Anyway some people dont do it for reward, some do it for out of good heart but some fixed themseft and post here and forget about it. Good person dont need sure as reward, they do it for pity for someone unable to fix on thier own, other do it for reward.

that's not very nice either. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> anyway, the second part is at least true.
