Hello all. I am new to the site, so i am new to the forums, as well as the game Pirates!. I am still in the phase of installing the game, so technically i havent even played yet. If you pirates dont find it any trouble, I wanted to ask you a question about an error i get when i am trying to install. The error message is '1608: Unable to create InstallDriver instance, Return code: -2147287015'. If any of you have had this problem and fixed it, PPPLLLZZZZ tell me <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

its not pirates its the installshield program on your computer

Steve

oh and one other thing u can have a look for is to see if u have a program called isscript.msi in your add/remove programs list. it is the script part of installshield and as far as i am aware is NOT supposed to show up in the add/remove programs list. I had one in there myself last year which something had installed and it was confusing the hell out of the system as windows already has one anyway. i was constantly getting errors when trying to install stuff. not exactly your message but similar.

If you follow all of that site's instructions and it STILL doesn't work, try running this command (start>run):

"C:program FilesCommon FilesInstallShieldDriver8Intel 32IDriver.exe" -Embedding

It worked for me when nothing else did. If this doesn't work though, you're probably SOL.
