Edit Water texture

Does anyone know where i might find the water textures. Since they probably are in dds format i would want to change them into a more darker and more blue color (Like pirates looked in the first videos)

I find the water textures now to be way too bright and i dont like it.
If it could be darkened and turned slightly more blue it would be perfect.

Have you been to the Caribbean? The water is <i>unbelievably</i> bright turquoise in color until you get way out in open ocean. Sid nailed the color just right, as much of the Caribbean is very shallow with a clean sandy bottom. This is what gives it the distinct color.

Yes i know its very bright near shore and between much of the smaller islands, but it should be a little darker and more blue out in the open. I guess its just different taste.

Anyway i was just wondering if anyone know where i might find the textures for the water. I would want to experiment to see if i can get it to look darker and more blue out in the open while still being bright near the shores

COOL!!!!!

I have noticed this as well.

On the early screenshots the ocean was blu now it is more grey,blue, green.

I also think the ocean is to transparent...

Im working on it, searching for the textures. Don't know if i can do anything about it being transparent(although it is too transparent)

Atleast out in open ocean i would like to make the water have a deeper and darker blue. Right now the ocean and sky have the same color so you can't see where the ocean ends, atleast on my pc.

Also does anybody know if it would be possible to edit camera angles while sailing at sea?

On deck camera(even static) would be cool and a chaseview that can be rotated around your ship.
