Divide plunder calculation

Oldtimer

Master Mariner
Hi all,

just started on 14.9,5 and signed articles as I usually do.
When dividing plunder of abt 40.000 the 11 crewmen were supposed to get 85/each,
the ship abt 3500 and myself also around 3000. These are not exact nos but I tested it once again with another total to divide and it did not add up either.

Even more remarkable was that the crew were pleased...

If it hasn't been long since you last divided plunder, the crew share ratio will be quite high. As long as they get 3 times what they'd have been paid in salary for the same amount of time (calculated daily) they should be happy.

The crew gets a portion of the money you divide, your officers get a portion and you get a portion. Check the wealth on yourself and your officers before and after dividing the plunder. The ship ends up with 10% of the amount divided to start the next expedition. Everything else went to the crew.

If you're getting weird numbers, write down the wealth before and after for you and your officers, write down the numbers the loanshark told you in the dialog and how happy he said the crew would be, write down the amount your ship had before and after, and write down the number of crew you had (on all your ships) before dividing the plunder, and get the expedition length (from the crew status screen). I'll have a look to see if anything is wrong.

Previously, the crew share ratio was calculated on the length of the expedition and nothing else. I added some code to determine what the crew expected versus what they actually got based on the expedition length and their actual pay.

Hi Hook,

my age must be telling. I`m not observant enough... I had companions here and it seems they partake of my loot.

Hey, that's ok. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> I couldn't be sure there wasn't something wrong with the calculations after my last changes either, without some hard numbers to look at.
