Defending Colony

I have managed to take a colony, got it all built up, and now its time to defend it. Except I'm not sure how. There are no ships to fight in my harbor, and no one in the town wants to swap steel.. i got the messege saying i am being attacked by holland... but no one is around!.. little help!

Same here, but I have one ship at harbour. I defeat it, but agression still stays. Bug?

You have to kill exactly 4 enemy ships. Sometimes the enemy ships flee the battle - but the game still counts this as a siege. If even a single tartana without any cannons remains, the siege proceeds. Obviously the tartana will beat the 80 cannons fort with 2500 soldiers. The workaround for fleeing enemy - leave the sea map and return back asap - the fleeng enemies are back.
Of course this cannot be the reason behind your problems

Well, I have conquered St.Kitts (English) and got it half built up ... then set sail for Guadalupe when I got message that my colony is attacked by Holland so I run <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> back with my two ships (battleship and frigate) ... Colony was conquered and I won it back defeating the fort (mind you it was a citadel) and when I rush in everything was the same except I have to charge a new governor ... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" /> ... I wonder is there a possibility to leave some of your ships to defend the colony ? I dunno ... I m also confused about my fame because when I conquered St.Kitts fame raises to Little known but very soon I became Unknown again ... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" /> ... any help ???
