Crossbones to debut in March 2013

Just quick one mates, the American TV network NBC announced their lineup of new shows for the next TV season, included is a mention of Crossbones! Crossbones was originally announced last year but there were few details at the time, and there is not a whole lot with this update but we know the series will be based on Colin Woodard's book The Republic of Pirates, which is set during the Golden Age and follows the adventures of legendary pirates Blackbeard, Black Sam Bellamy, and Charles Vane. This series really has some potential, but based on what I have seen lately from Hollywood, I really don't expect much. Hopefully at least it wont have much voodoo in it! The series is currently set to premiere in March 2013.

The plot of the drama will be set in 1715 on the Bahamian island of New Providence, where pirate Edward Teach (Blackbeard) is the leader of a group of thieves and outlaws.

Tom Lowe, an undercover assassin, is sent into the pirates' lair to take down Blackbeard. However, Lowe finds the mission more difficult than he expected, and begins to respect the pirate leader.
