My character import tool is available for testing. Get the file TOOL.rar from

Alan, thanks for the remark about characters disappearing. That's been solved now, too.

If I didn't have so many projects on hand, I'd put my head down and actually learn this stuff... (eventually I will)

Funny that it comes just *after* I finally got my Catalina de Erauso skin the way I wanted it... I'm even not minding much anymore the long hair on the French soldier model I used. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> Maybe I'll get to changing her around someday too - make her look more like her portrait, with a cuirasse - and the hat needs a feather!

This does not mean I won't be wanting to make a Catalina The Pirate skin! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> Grumblepunk made a GREAT start at one, but he doesn't seem to like being around here much anymore... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> So I guess I'll have to fiddle with it myself.

I'm still trying to make this work for me... trying to work around Maya and the Sea Dogs/.gm plugins not functioning by exporting to .obj, editing in Maya, then exporting to VRML, then using the character tool to change to .gm.

But I get bupkuss; there is nothing of any sort in the resulting file.

Any suggestions, for settings I need to use or something?
