changing the ships cannon range

how do i change my 24lb long cannon at 600yards to 800 yards? i looked in the cannon file and its range scaler was way more then 600 but in game its 600

That's because the ranges in "Cannons_init.c" are in feet. 1 yard = 3 feet.
