Changing 3rd person ship camera

I have a widescreen monitor and I edited the options file so CoAS runs in 16x10. The only problem this causes is that the chase camera in the 3rd person ship view is 'mounted' quite high and it's difficult to see all of my ship at once. I looked around for a solution on this forum, but didn't find one. (even though I remember it being talked about a few months ago) Is there a way I can change what height the camera is set to?
