Capture towns under pirate flag

Is it possible to capture towns and place them under pirate control without being part of a nationality.kinda of a pirates versus the world thing.

yes it would be a good addition.maybe someone will make mod just for that purpose,sort of a Risk type senerio.

Ok I see that changing to pirate towns is out of the question. BUt here is one how do I attack any town. Seems the only one I can attack are those nations I have captured alot of ships from. If I try to go in by land as the mauual states I do not get the pop up asking me my intentions. I just end up at the in town menu. Anyone know what I am doing wrong.

You can attack any town that has cannons. Sail past, pressing space (if you have any cannons) to bombard them, and eventually they will get sick of it and fire back at you. That's your cue to sail in and engage in land battle. Alternatively you can land on the shore nearby and walk over to engage in land battle.

This works whether the nation hates you or has just made you a duke. It's just a matter of how much harassing you need to do for them to react.

Thanks seems simple enough and good timing as well as I was running out of Spanish towns to attack. Time to hit the high sees and plunder some British towns...
