I just attacked the Sao Jorge fort! But, when the fort is destroyed the screen goes black. You can still hear music and go to the F1 screen, but thats it. I waited for a number of minutes to see if it was just lag, but no luck. I can try another fort later.

Also when Silehard gives me the job of going to the Bridgetown Jailor (playing the main quest) when I go to my ship (Blackpearl re-named Ghost) after leaving his office, my ship has become the 'Wicked Wench'! It seams very Similar to the upgrade you recive from Beckett during the Jack Sparrow quest.

Again, just observations, not criticism. I love what you guys are doing!

Apparently there's still a whole bunch of Jack Sparrow code in the standard storyline. Originally we had intended to have the Jack Sparrow storyline somehow intertwined with the standard storyline so you could play as Jack Sparrow too. That was before we had the Selectable Storylines mod. Short Jack Gold and Bartolomeu o Portugues had already done quite a bit of work on that by that time, pretty much all of which has now made it into the Legend of Jack Sparrow storyline. We still need to get the traces of all that removed from the standard storyline though. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/24.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rofl" border="0" alt="24.gif" />
 
ok...so, I enabled the error logging and have attached the files below, as I have no clue what I'm looking for. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

The same black screen happened when I took over the sao jorge fort. I tried it again at bridgetown, I was able to take the fort, but when I reached the port the "bad guys" were out in the water beneath the town i attached a picture.

resource\models\locations\Fort_inside_Spain\Fort_1\fort1_l.gm: can't open geometry file

That last one is a good reason for a black screen or other issues. That model file doesn't exist anymore since we figured out how to use texture folders. Strangely enough I haven't got a clue how that model file got called in the first place. Searching my PROGRAM folder, I do not find any reference to it. And it can't be called by the engine either, because it wasn't in the stock game in the first place! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

Enemy soldiers in the water suggest a locator problem. Which is weird, because I'm pretty sure Thomas had made town boarding locator files for all the stock game town locations! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />
 
What happens if you un-comment the capture colony code in the console?
 
I think you instantly get the Capture Colony interface screen. Give it a try. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
 
OK.......SO, I tried the console after un-commenting the capture colony portion. I went directly to the capture colony screen. But it didn't seem to have any effect; still had my officer, still didn't run the town. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

I destroyed the fort at Port au prince (3 tries!!). after fighting at the fort, then in the port the screen goes black. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

I then conquered the fort on Douwesen (dont remember the new name). I fought in the fort, then in the port, and then finally in town. When I'm talking to the governor, the only option I have is to ransom the colony. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

Any suggestions?

I noticed another possible bug...

After sailing to the pirate camp on Nevis, I repaired my ships and planned on berthing one there. As soon as I went to the berth ship screen the game screen went black then, after a couple of seconds....CTD.

It was at the shipyard in the Pirate encampment.
 
That's odd; should work in theory. Try again in Alpha 9 once it's uploaded. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

BTW: I tried a Colony Capture on Kralendijk just before uploading Alpha 9 and that worked pretty well. No black screens or anything.
The only problem was that, after capturing the town for myself, I didn't get my personal soldiers guarding the place. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
