Build11 problem

Rawoo

Landlubber
the game constantly crashes to the desktop especially after a battle.
After a sea battle I cant remove officer if I do then it would crash.
Does this happen to someone else here?

<b>Rawoo, </b>try pressing the "T" key before going to sea, that may help.

Are you getting an error log? When the game CTD, check in the PotC directory for an error.log file - if you have one, open it in a text editor (like notepad) and copy and paste here - maybe then we can help track down what the trouble is.

I'm sorry Cat, you know more about the workings of the game than I ever will, but I thought that the "I" key was the button to press in Build 11.

Here's a Sir Christopher Mings theory about the CTD's of the kind that Rawoo is experiencing. If you obtain a high level ship, a class 1, 2, or a 3, and your sailing skill is not high enough to enable you to sail that ship, then it throws the game out of whack and you get a CTD.

Rawoo, does your officer have a higher sailing skill than you do? I'm guessing that you are assigning the officer to the captured ship, and either swapping to the captured ship, or keeping your old one, either a 1, 2, or 3, and your sailing experience level is not high enough for that ship.

For a workaround, you may have to hire more officers with high sailing skill until you can get your own sailing skill up, so you can assign them to captured ships and keep your officer with the sailing skill that is higher than yours.

Remember this is a SCM theory, take it for what it's worth... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />:

Let us know if you are able to get around this, the CTDs don't happen often, but they are frustrating when they occur. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" /> Notice though that he said it crashed ESPECIALLY after battles, which means that it happens at other time, hm....
When installing did you select localized build? I'm in Aus as well and I didn't, and it's been working fine for me.

- I searched the folder, there is no error.log file, and when it CTD there was no error dialog box or anything like that.

- My sailing skill is 10 and I only assign a officer to a ship only if his sailing skill is more than 5. I have two ships now a battleship I got from England and black lineship bought from pirate settlement.

- Gunner u r right, CTD only happens after sea battle but not all the time it's very strange.

Somehow I think 10.1 is more stable.

no, catalina was right. you press i after installing new mods. you press t to find out a character's name and fighting skills, AND you should press t before going to sea (nathan added a debugging routine to the `t-key` function). mmkay?

"Drugs are bad, mmmmkay?" Mr. Mackay

Thanks Kieron, on the rare occasions that something goes wrong for me, playing Build 11, I start hitting buttons at random. It's good to know which ones actually do something. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
