i mean the standard storyline file does change without problems. but now here is one i can't walk !!!! only in standard i can't. i can sidestep but not walk. not in cabin not in shore in stormystart.
i changed my ship to enterprise and model to depp

sigh well i backupt all files and i'll just stop editing cause it won't work anyway

a when i change the cabin i can't walk thats why

What did you change the cabin to? Any "Cabin#" location should work.
I know changing the starting ship DOES work. In any of the storylines. I've done that myself very frequently.
Of course you can also use PROGRAM\console.c to give you another ship after the game has started.
Find the following code:<!--c1--><div class='codetop'>CODE</div><div class='codemain'><!--ec1-->// Give ship
// ------------------
//    GiveShip2Character(pchar,"CursedDutchman","Flying Dutchman",PIRATE,true,true);<!--c2--></div><!--ec2-->
Remove the // in front of the GiveShip2Character line and change the input so you get the ship you want.
<i>GiveShip2Character(char, shiptype, shipname, nationality, hirecrew, getsupplies)</i>

ee i changed the ship but the cabin name was cabin3 but it only works with smallcabin Ps. i tried jack sparrow today again and now it works

I just set "Enterprise" as my starting ship in the standard storyline and it worked fine for me. I skipped the tutorial though.

Did you follow the <a href="http://wiki.piratesahoy.net/index.php/Instalations" target="_blank">installation instructions</a>? Did the game work before installing the modpack?

yes i have installed the mods correctly and the game worked before installing the mod, it also works on build 13.

In that case, it's <a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?showtopic=9234" target="_blank">error logging</a> time. Post the contents of compile.log, system.log and possible error.log on the forum.

What I noticed when started Alpha 9.5:
Tried Sparrow's storyline: couldnt get out of that starting room;
tried New Horizons (I guess thats the standard storyline): couldnt find the sword that quest dude is asking, no chests or boxes were available for opening either;
I kinda doubt its worth trying other storylines atm >_>

And yes, I did everything according to instructions when installed it.

Something went wrong in installing; it must've had. Otherwise it'd be working.
Please <a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?showtopic=9234" target="_blank">enable error logging</a> and post the contents of system.log, compile.log and possible error.log here.

Just for everybody's information, I'm currently compiling the next patch, so that'll be coming tomorrow. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

Excellent!

Short Jack Gold just sent me his Hornblower quest updates, so that'll delay the release a bit.
But not by much and I'm sure it'll be worth it.

There's a possible further delay if my fears about school-problems are confirmed.
But it'll be within the next couple of days for sure. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

The update file is complete. I am now uploading it and in the meantime I'll test the installation process to ensure it works.
It's a whopping 215 MB again, but that's really as small as I could make it. In any case, it should be worth it.
There's a bunch of fixes and improvements included as well as major updates to the Assassin, Hornblower and Jack Sparrow quests.

Good to hear... It will be well worth the download <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Refer to the <a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?s=&showtopic=12809&view=findpost&p=307381" target="_blank">updated feature list</a> to see what you can look forward to.
I have confirmed that the installation process works as intended. Now it's waiting until the upload is complete.
