Build 14 Alpha 9

Well I know there's 2 types of bugfixes, minor and major ones, tell me about some of the major bugs that 14A 9.5 has that no one can figure out... other than the locators not being made. As far as saving at sea goes I feel it's not needed right now, even though I die during boardings a lot LOL!
 
"Saving At Sea" is already made; just not yet included. It's a part of our "Development Resources" that you now have access to.
One of the major bugs are CTDs caused by our experimental Different Flags system.
 
Hmm, CTDs... If I turn this off would I get less bugs on a new game? Oh, and can you direct me to the "Development Resources" Room please LOL!

These particular CTDs are included only in the Development Resources and not Build 14 Alpha 9.5.

Well it wont let me use most of the links cos i download on macs and furthermore it only works on macs but i cant play the game on macs; but what im gonna try and do is install the mod onto my mem stick, then copy it into the potc directory and run the .bat app; will this work or do i need to cleanly install it for the mod to work correctly?

You can install the mod without having the game and then paste the files over the unmodified game and run the batch file, yes.

Thanks you, Pieter. I might not even be able to do that now. Ive just tried the downoad on a normal computer and also downloaded it from filefront and gamershell again and all they do is become ms-dos files and black flash for a second; in other words, its got the exe extension but is openeing in dos. Why is it doing this? Is it meant to be a zipped folder because thats what it says it is on all the sites but somewhere between downloading and it being on the machine, it becomes a bleedin dos file.

Ive just tried alpha 8 as well; same problemo so no doubt it something im doing. But what?

For the crew to equip themselves with weapons, must they be in the crew deck chest or in the captain cabin ship chest ? Also can the crew /not the officers/ use pistols that require gunman ability ? And how do I give weapons to my officers ? Was there an option to hire bodyguards that will fight along with the officers ? On which island was it that one trader offers exclusive ca.30000 swords "french nobility" or of the sort ?

your boarders will use the weapons you put in your weapon locker, its in your cabin and the sign is a dagger crosses with a pistol, as for the gunman ability, i'm not sure but i think they do, i know ive seen them and i never get that ability unless i have nothing else to spend my points on.

you give weapons to your offirsers by simply exchanging with them, they will outomaticly equip the strongest weapon they have.

you can get a number of crew as bodyguards by talking to your men on deck.

the french nobility sword is rare, there are some random people that sell it, or you can get it by promoting a few times in the french navy.
 
i found something weird, i was boarded by a frigate, i was fighting on my own deck and we were almost winning, then all the sudden my charater sheated his sword and i wasnt able to move at all

I have a rather strange bug, that probably has to do with diplomatics. The Tortuga Fort keeps firing on me, even if I have hoisted any flag, be it Jolly Roger or the Tricolore or the Union Jack. It doesn't matter they sink my ship. And not just in the Jack Sparrow Storyline but in any other, too. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

Sooo what shall I do?
 
in jack sparrow storyline i have visited turks island before going to tortuga... i have moored with no problem on the turks then the tortuga...
 
Captain MacBenic, you dont mention your relation to the pirates. Buy if it's worse than (-65), the Tortuga Fort will sure fire on you.

I need any of those eexcellent sabers, be it french or whichever. I met only once in the beginnning of the game one who sells them, and then I had 1000 and it cost 30000. I hope if I go to the same island again he will be there. But don't know the island ?!

To exchange items with your officers while facing them hit the rerurn, choose the icon with the two arrows to exchange with them.

Build 14 Alpha 9.5 bug. Space key always toggles 1x-3x time compression, no matter what command Space is mapped to or even if Space is mapped to no command at all. I even cleared the bindings for the two speed compression controls (1x-3x and 10x-30x). Really annoying. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":huh" border="0" alt="huh.gif" />
 
The Jack Sparrow Tortuga fort problem seems to be fairly common, but we have been unable to solve it yet. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

Not zipped or anything; just EXE-files.
Can you get the file to work correctly on ANY computer?

Have you tried to reset controls to default? If that doesn't work, remove your "options" file in the main game folder.
Don't worry; the game generates a new one with the default settings next time you start the game.
 
Sorry about being off topic. I'm new here. I just wanted to ask if Jack Sparrow is playable in Final Build 13? Cause I'm downloading it right now.

Also, can you select a storyline in finalbuild 13?
