I just did a clean new install of PotC and my Fred Bob quest to test some code, and noticed something - the extra textures do not automagically install, you have to do them manually.

So does the UPDATE not install automagically, also? Do you have to do it manually too? Because I think if that's the case, not a lot of people will understand this, and it might be the answer to a lot of people's game problems...

(forgive me, I've had my head down in the code so much I don't really know how this works)

I'm pretty positive that the code automatically installs itself, actually. I'm not sure why the textures don't, though.
 
It all <i>should</i>, but in practice, doesn't. I offered me services to the PMT as an application repackaging architect, given that's me trade at IBM, but I've heard nothing so far. Yeah, I noticed the textures first thing, because I like how the one in the captain's cabin looks, the one on the desk with the other charts... So I look at it once in a while, and when I looked after the install, it wasn't there! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/urgh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":urgh" border="0" alt="urgh.gif" />

That's why I was concerned about the update not updating automatically.

Mad Jack: It's because things were a bit busy in the PMT, and now due to RL things are rather slow. So sorry for the delay. : But we _will_ get back to you on that.
But that's re the expansion, not the build (which here seems to be proceeding apace.)
 
Wonderful! I meant no disparagement. I certainly understand the imposition RL has on a pyrate's life. I'm more than ready to help out in any way I can.
